What people love about Jordan Tours for Seniors
- Jordan Experience (Classic, Summer, Dead Sea Extension)
It's an experience not to be missed - a true "bucket-list" destination! It was wonderful stepping back in time and visiting places I had heard about growing up. Walking down the siq (in Petra) and seeing my first glimpse of the iconic Treasury building gave me goose bumps. It is something that will stay with me forever. as will floating in the Dead Sea which was another amazing experience. Insight took care of everything with a representative meeting us as we walked off the plane, rushed us through the VIP immigration station and on to our luggage collection & hotel. All our hotels were first class and we were well looked after by our guide and driver stopping at local Jordanian cafes and restaurants for lunch & snacks. I would thoroughly recommend the trip! But be prepared to walk, especially in Petra.
- Jordan Express
The tour was amazing. Our guide, Issa, was brilliant, really helpful and knew about all of the sites that we visited and he arranged lovely lunches for us each day. The hotels were fine, basic but clean and safe. It's a busy tour and you do a lot each day so you can make the most of a short holiday.
- Totally Jordan - 8 Days
Recently returned from an amazing trip on the Totally Jordan itinerary. If it hadn't have been for the recommendation of the lovely OTG staff, I don't think I would have gone - I cannot be more happy that I did! Jordan is one of the most naturally stunning places on the planet. On The Go takes you to the must see sights, and actually gives you the time to explore them! Major highlight was the secret hike in Petra, and the walk to watch sunrise over Wadi Rum! Our guide was fantastic - very knowledgeable and charismatic! The organisation couldn't be flawed. As a solo female traveller, I cannot recommend this tour enough!!!
What our customers ask about Jordan Tours for Seniors
What are the typical accommodations for seniors touring Jordan?
Senior tours in Jordan typically stay in 4-5 star hotels in major cities with properties like the Intercontinental Amman and Holiday Inn Dead Sea providing modern comforts and reliable service. Even the desert camps in Wadi Rum offer proper beds and private bathrooms rather than basic camping setups. A TourRadar reviewer noted "The lodging arranged during this tour was 4 and 5 star hotels. We particularly loved the Old Village Resort in Petra."
What is the best time of year for seniors to visit Jordan?
The most comfortable months for seniors are during spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) when temperatures stay between 20-30°C (68-86°F). Summer brings intense heat especially at sites like Petra and Wadi Rum. Winter temperatures can drop significantly in Amman. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Our guide was cognizant of the heat and always provided water for us as well as minimizing walking in the middle of the day."
What is the average age range for senior tours in Jordan?
Senior tours generally welcome travelers between 50-70 years old though many accept guests up to 85. The Exodus Adventure "A Week in Jordan" tour regularly hosts people in their 60s and 70s. A TourRadar traveler noted "We are both fit aged 71 and 64" while describing their positive experience visiting major sites.
How accessible are the main tourist sites in Jordan for seniors?
Jordan's main attractions including Petra Jerash and the Dead Sea feature well-maintained walkways and facilities suitable for older visitors. While Petra requires more walking you can explore at your own speed with frequent rest stops. Tours provide transportation between locations and guides who understand senior needs. A TourRadar review stated: "The tour was excellent value for money. Eddy was an excellent guide very knowledgeable helpful & always smiling."
What medical facilities are available during Jordan tours for seniors?
Quality private hospitals with English-speaking staff are found in major cities like Amman. Upscale hotels such as the Intercontinental Amman provide on-call medical services. Tour guides carry first aid supplies and know emergency procedures. A TourRadar traveler noted: "Our guide knew all the nearest medical facilities and helped arrange a doctor visit when needed at the Dead Sea Marriott."
Are there opportunities to interact with local culture at a relaxed pace?
Senior tours build in relaxed cultural experiences like sharing meals with local families visiting artisan workshops and having tea with Bedouin hosts. These encounters happen at an unhurried pace that allows for meaningful exchanges. According to a TourRadar traveler: "Our guide opened our eyes to the country its people attitudes and position in the Middle East and I now have a much clearer understanding of Jordan."
