What people love about touring Jordan solo
- Jordan Jewels - 8 Days
We had an incredible tour in July 2023. We had booked a small group tour but ended up with a private tour for our family of 4 since people travel less to Jordan in summer. It was definitely hot but our driver/guide was cognizant of that and always provided water for us as well as minimizing walking in the middle of the day and making sure our van was well cooled. We were picked up from the airport and whisked through security easily. Our vehicle was clean and comfortble - we had a mini van for our family of 4. Our driver, Sayel, was just incredible. He has been doing this job for years and you can tell he is very knowledgeable. He seems to know everyone at every stop, and sometimes was able to help us skip lines. In places where we had a local guide, he helped us find the best guide, and they were all excellent. He also took us to some great food places - my recommendation is to stay away from the touristy buffets and go to local places. We did find the food quite expensive though. Our driver was also able to book us a bunch of extra excursions including a balloon ride in Wadi Rum, which I highly recommend. Hotels on the trip ranged from pretty good to just ok. Some of the hotels clearly haven't remodeled since the 80s, especially our hotel in Petra. Some of the bedding and furnishings were ancient. I want to say that everything in Jordan felt extremely safe, and we were treated very well the entire time. I wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

Really enjoyed this trip to Jordan. Even though it was short of period time I was able to see a lot. Loved the driver he was very friendly and always on top the time. Even though Itinerary wasn't follow to 100% but I enjoyed every minute of it. I'm glad I was able to arrive a day before to enjoy on my own.
- Short Trip To Jordan - Group Tour By Locals
Although we reserved a group tour when we arrived we were the only people, so we had a private driver for the week. Yazan our driver was great and ensured our safety and comfort. He accommodated our schedule and was friendly and although not a guide, provided us with basic information to visit all the sites on our itinerary. It was actually really nice to not have to worry about other folks and take the time we wanted at each site. Petra and Jerash were both amazing! The hotel in Petra, La Maison, was perfect in every way. Our only complaint was the hotel in Amman, le Meneur. We were very disappointed, i would highly recommend that you pay the extra money to upgrade to a 4 or 5 star hotel. The service was horrible and the heat did not work. However, tour500 listened to our concerns and actually moved us to another hotel, the Century Park, for our last night in Amman. This hotel was wonderful. Overall, the food in Jordan was tasty, the historical sites and holy sites were awesome, the drive through the mountains provided awe inspiring vistas and the price was reasonable for the itinerary.
What our customers ask about Jordan Tours for Solo Travelers
How social are the group tours in Jordan and will I meet other solo travelers?
The tour atmosphere in Jordan is naturally social with 47-70% of participants being solo travelers. Groups bond quickly during shared experiences at desert camps shared meals and walks through ancient sites like Petra and Jerash. This social environment makes it easy to connect with fellow travelers throughout the journey.
What level of physical activity should solo travelers expect on Jordan tours?
Tours typically involve moderate physical activity. A regular day might include 5-6 hours walking through Petra some nature reserve hikes and relaxing activities like floating in the Dead Sea. The peak seasons run March through May and September through November. These months offer comfortable temperatures and the most tour options.
