What people love about touring Jordan solo
- 10 Day 9 Night Jordan Tour Highlights (CT-JHT-017)
We could not have been happier with our custom tour organized by JHT. From the moment we got picked up to our final drop off everything was taken care of and ran very smoothly . Communication with our booking agent Aida was clear, fast and efficient & our tour guide Wajih was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Jordanian history and culture. We had a modern 12 seater van which even has wifi on board! Would recommend to anyone looking to see all the beautiful sights that Jordan has to offer.
- Experience Jordan Tour
This was one of the most amazing trips we’ve ever taken. Our group included 5 couples and 4 singles — 7 men and 7 women from 9 countries (I counted our Kiwi living in London as two!). Ages ranged from the 20s to the 70s, and by the end, we all felt like lifelong friends. We chose Experience Jordan because their program looked challenging but not grueling — and it was exactly that. From our first inquiry, Shushan was wonderfully responsive, answering all our questions. They arranged a smooth pickup from our hotel. Our guide, Motaz, was exceptional: warm, knowledgeable, and endlessly patient. He built instant rapport with the group, helped my wife through some of the steeper sections, and kept everyone safe, hydrated, and well-fed. His commentary on geology, geography, and history turned every stop into a lesson — like showing how the Bedouins make cosmetics from stones and soap from plants. The itinerary was perfectly paced. Each day offered incredible views and rewarding hikes, followed by comfortable, well-organized camps. Our tents were ready on arrival, with real pillows, thick foam mattresses, and warm blankets — quite cozy in the 12–15°C nights of late September. After changing out of hiking gear, we’d relax with tea around the campfire and watch the sunset — pure magic. Meals were simple but fresh and satisfying. Every day began with breakfast and a “build-your-own” lunch bag, and ended with hearty dinners of soup, salad, and chicken or vegetable mains. Fresh fruit and vegetables were always available, and we all appreciated the tea and treats (dates, cookies) served along the trail. Our luggage was always waiting for us at camp, allowing us to hike light each day. Everything ran flawlessly. The Experience(d) Jordan team has their logistics perfected — nothing ever felt rushed or uncertain. This trip exceeded our highest expectations and stands out as one of the highlights of our travels (we’ve visited over 80 countries). I would recommend this trip without hesitation to anyone in decent shape. I was the oldest in our group (age 70), and running 4 miles a few times a week was good preparation. This group was exceptional. Nobody knew anyone else at the start, but the camaraderie that developed was truly special. I cannot say that Experience Jordan created all of that, but they certainly attracted the right people for the right reasons and gave us the right environment to make that happen. (Luck? Maybe, but luck favors the prepared.) It was a truly unforgettable adventure — one we’ll be talking about for years to come.

What our customers ask about Jordan Tours for Solo Travelers
How social are the group tours in Jordan and will I meet other solo travelers?
The tour atmosphere in Jordan is naturally social with 47-70% of participants being solo travelers. Groups bond quickly during shared experiences at desert camps shared meals and walks through ancient sites like Petra and Jerash. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "Hatem creates chances for the group to bond quickly. The ages of the children were very similar which made a huge difference to the enjoyment of the trip." This social environment makes it easy to connect with fellow travelers throughout the journey.
What level of physical activity should solo travelers expect on Jordan tours?
Tours typically involve moderate physical activity. A regular day might include 5-6 hours walking through Petra some nature reserve hikes and relaxing activities like floating in the Dead Sea. The Exodus Petra & Wadi Rum tour features daily walks of 3-4 hours. According to one participant: "The hiking was manageable for average fitness levels and our guide always adapted the pace for the group."
What's the best time of year for solo travelers to join a guided tour in Jordan?
The peak seasons run March through May and September through November. These months offer comfortable temperatures and the most tour options. While Dead Sea resorts like the Movenpick remain pleasant year-round the key sites of Petra and Wadi Rum are best explored during these milder months when outdoor activities are most comfortable.
As a solo traveler, what are the best areas of Jordan for group tours?
The classic route including Petra Wadi Rum Dead Sea and Jerash works well for group travel. These locations have reliable tourism services and experienced guides who bring local context to each site. A TourRadar traveler noted: "The treasures in Petra are incredible and the hikes to explore them are full of surprises. You really can't not be wowed by Petra with a knowledgeable guide."
What's typically included in meal arrangements for solo travelers?
Tour packages generally cover daily breakfast and select group dinners creating natural opportunities to socialize. Special experiences like traditional meals at the Ammarin Bedouin camp let you share local cuisine with your group. One traveler shared: "We tried Jordanian cuisine and offerings along the way and of course the tea and coffee. The food at local restaurants recommended by our guide was excellent."
