What people love about England and Scotland Tours for Seniors
- Best of Scotland (Summer)
Timing of some itineraries. eg having to journey on before Culloden Visitors Centre opened Too much time spent in tourist shops Too much time travelling from Carrbridge Hotel to Skye to back to Carrbridge Hotel. My suggestion : only one night at Carrbridge Hotel , one night at an hotel near Fortwiiiian and two nights nights at Apex Hotel in Glasgow. Not our guides fault as she was carrying out the itinerary laid out for her Very enjoyable all the evening activities; Torphichen, Glasgow City Evening, Farewell Be My Guest
- Amazing Britain (10 Days)
We went on the England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales 18 nights tour in 2014, absolutely awesome. Covered so much, but very informative at the same time. We went in September and the weather was perfect! Recommend to everyone interested in getting a taste of UK!
- Grand Tour of Britain & Ireland
We were impressed. Our guide (Kaeleigh) was extremely well informed and provided information and history. The whole process was well organised from booking until the last breakfast. We highly recommend.
What our customers ask about England and Scotland Tours for Seniors
What is the best time of year for seniors to visit England and Scotland?
For seniors planning a trip to England and Scotland May-June and September stand out as the best months. The weather stays moderate with temperatures between 15-20°C (60-70°F). These months also see fewer tourist crowds at popular spots like Edinburgh Castle and the Lake District. The weather allows for comfortable outdoor exploration without the peak summer crowds or challenging winter conditions that many older travelers prefer to avoid.
What type of accommodation can seniors expect on these tours?
Travelers stay in centrally located 4-star hotels that put comfort and convenience first. The Intercontinental Edinburgh George Hotel serves as a typical example with its central location. London accommodations like the Tower Suites Hotel offer similar standards. Every property is chosen with senior travelers in mind featuring reliable elevators easy access and short walking distances to main attractions. Tour operators prioritize hotels where guests can rest well and easily reach nearby sights.
What is included in the meals on these tours?
Tour packages cover daily breakfasts and select dinners at both hotels and local establishments. CIE Tours for instance provides 9 breakfasts and 5 dinners that showcase British and Scottish foods. The tour operators work with restaurants that can adjust meals for different dietary needs when arranged beforehand. Past travelers often mention the generous portions quality ingredients and willingness of restaurants to accommodate special requests.
