  • Day 1

    Tirana, Albania

    Get your journey started in Albania's capital. Book an afternoon arrival at Tirana International Airport to avoid morning traffic. The city center is just 30 minutes away, but traffic can double that during rush hour.

    Montenegro Coast (Ulcinj & Bar)

    Take a 3-hour drive to Montenegro, with a stop at historic Lezha in Albania. Visit Ulcinj's medieval old town but bring good walking shoes. The castle area has steep climbs but you'll get amazing sunset views over the Adriatic from the fortified old town.

    Budva & Kotor

    Get to Budva early before the crowds fill the UNESCO site. Kotor's bay is the real showstopper. Give yourself 2-3 hours to walk the city walls. If you want to visit the Lady of the Rocks islet, take a morning boat. Afternoon winds can make the water choppy. Bring a light jacket since the stone churches stay cool even in summer.

    Dubrovnik & Medjugorje

    Cross into Croatia first thing as border lines can get long in peak season. Buy your Dubrovnik wall tickets online to skip the queues. Walk the walls before 10 AM or after 4 PM to avoid the heat. It's about 2.5 hours to Medjugorje. You can break up the drive with a stop in Ston.

    Mostar & Sarajevo

    Stay in Mostar for two nights. Want great photos of the famous bridge? Go early morning or at sunset to avoid the midday crowds. Take a day trip to Sarajevo (2.5 hours each way) to see the Cold War bunker. Try traditional Bosnian coffee in the old town, but remember most shops close for Friday prayers.

    Durmitor National Park

    Time your visit to this Montenegro mountain gem carefully. Bring proper hiking shoes as Black Lake trails get muddy after rain. The Tara Bridge offers incredible photo opportunities in the morning light. Stay overnight in Zabljak to be right in the park.

    Kolašin & Podgorica

    Drive through Montenegro's beautiful interior from the mountains to the capital. You can walk to most historical sites in Podgorica, but summer temperatures often hit 95°F/35°C. Plan indoor activities for the afternoon.

    Shkodër & Tirana

    Head back to Albania through historic Shkodër. The climb to Rozafa Castle takes about 15 minutes but rewards you with views of three rivers. Set aside 90 minutes for the castle visit.

  • Days 1-2

    Athens, Greece

  • Days 1-2

    Athens

    Your journey starts with a transfer from the airport to your city center hotel. Get an early start on day two with an 8:00 AM visit to the Acropolis to avoid crowds and heat. After touring the Acropolis Museum until 1:30 PM, spend your afternoon exploring the charming Plaka neighborhood.     Dubrovnik to Kotor

    Arriving in Dubrovnik at noon, plan your city walls walk for early morning or late afternoon to avoid heat and crowds. The next day in Kotor (8:00 AM arrival), climb the fortress early. It's a challenging 1,350 steps but the bay views make it worthwhile. The old town is especially beautiful as evening approaches.

    Bari

    Take time to explore this Italian port city. The old town, Bari Vecchia, comes alive around 9:30 AM. You might spot local women making orecchiette pasta right on the streets. Visit the Basilica di San Nicola before 11:00 AM to beat the tour groups.

    Corfu to Katakolon

    Morning light is perfect for photos of Corfu Town's Venetian buildings. When in Katakolon, take an early train to ancient Olympia. The 30-minute ride gets you there before the site gets too hot. Spend your afternoon at the port's waterfront restaurants.

    Athens Return
