Reviews of Taiwan Family Tours
- Best of Taiwan 9 Days Tour Package
It was well worth planning our trip around the 9-day tour with some days added on. The friendly meet and greet by Cathy at the airport made getting to and checking into the hotel effortless. The one-day tour preceding the main trip around the island was excellent. Our driver and guide Jacky (Jack) made the visits both informative and interesting, plus an opportunity to gain an understanding of life and economics for persons living in Taiwan. The next day we explored the immediate vicinity of our hotel plus the Museum The follow-on bus tour was superb. In all 1100 km round trip in an air-conditioned bus (with WIFI) driven by Eason Tseng – careful, courteous and conscientious, 27 fellow travellers of various nationalities and of course our guide Alan Chow who provided not only leadership coupled with an anecdotal commentary, but helpful advice. This tour around the island tour was comprehensive, an absolute must for any first time visitor to Taiwan. We extended our visit by a further four days using Taipei as our hub. Hotels throughout our stay were 5-star. While each offers a 1st class laundry service, they also provide a self-service cash operated laundry for the budget minded. They say first impressions are always lasting and they include: cleanliness - even in remote rural areas - yes you may find old vehicles and the like but no litter anywhere! Ease of getting around - if in doubt just ask - people are friendly and while only about 15% of the populous speak English there is always someone willing to help. Public transport - just buy a 2 or 3 day MRT pass (rail) or a multi-pass to include busses. Also taxi's are inexpensive. Better yet - our Westpac bank card (not Mastercard or Visa) - there are many banks with ATM plus the Family Mart ATMs give you direct access to your bank account back in Australia. You can check your balance and draw Taiwan $ cash directly - foreign transaction fee Au$5 regardless of the amount drawn. Furthermore the Taiwanese are scrupulously honest - no tourist mark-up, no tips.

We had an incredible time exploring Taiwan with Delightful Travel. We visited some of the most breathtaking natural wonders, such as the mesmerising Sun Moon Lake and the Jiaoxi hot spring village . Every aspect of our journey was seamless, from transportation to accommodations, allowing us to unwind and fully immerse ourselves in the experience. We must extend a special thank you to our tour guide, Charles, who elevated our trip to new heights. His infectious laughter and friendly demeanour kept the group entertained throughout the journey. Charles’s ability to share fascinating facts about Taiwan while weaving humorous anecdotes made even the longest drives feel like a breeze. I highly recommend Delightful Travel. Would definitely book with them again!

Thank you SuperValue for an incredible journey back to the land of my birth. It was amazing. You showed me the beauty and delicious taste of Taiwan! You picked the most amazing hotels and we enjoyed sampling different foods. We didn't like the Buddhist vegetarian meal but you exposed us to something new. We did love the aboriginal meal. That was such a fun day of culture. So thank you for exposing us to such a lovely variety of what Taiwan has to offer I traveled in a group of 10 (my family). Here are some thoughts: 1. We all wish we had more time at Jiufen. It was so beautiful and we wanted to do more hiking. But we had to race to the hotel. There was no need to get to the hotel so early. We are there to see the sights. 2. We wish we got to hike and had more time at Taroko Gorges. Avalanche concerns cancelled our first day of hikes. And it just wasn't enough time to take in the wonders of that incredible area. My cousin said they rafted there. We all would've loved that so much! 3. Andrew, our tour guide, was incredibly hard working, kind, enthusiastic and friendly. We can't say enough about how wonderful he was. So, it is a little awkward to say I wish he talked a little less. He would speak on the mike on the bus and the speakers were way too loud. He would repeat himself many times. I understand some passengers needed to be told directions multiple times. There were a few elderly on our bus. But I wish he would just speak to them privately and not repeat everything for everyone so many times. It was taxing. Also, sometimes when the elderly passengers would have a private conversation with him, he would respond on the mike for us all to hear. That was not pleasant. 4. Our tour was quite mixed in age ranges. We had younger boys who wanted to do more physical activities. There were other elderly who could not. Perhaps going forward, you could mention if your tour is more sedate or more active and we could chose something more to our speed. Most importantly, I would highly recommend your tour to anyone who asked. It was recommended to me by my aunts who grew up in Taiwan. They thought it was excellent. Now that I've experienced it, I would concur. Thank you again, Lucy
