Travel to Sun Moon Lake in central Taiwan and explore the area with your guide. You'll visit Ita Thao Village to learn about Thao culture, then see Ci'en Pagoda and Xuanzang Temple before heading to Wenwu Temple. Your guide explains the cultural and historical background of each stop before you check into your hotel.

Sun Moon Lake to Kaohsiung
Head south to Tainan and start at Fort Zeelandia, a 17th-century Dutch fortress. Walk through Anping Old Street to try local snacks like shrimp rolls and tofu pudding. In the afternoon, continue to Kaohsiung to see Fo Guang Shan Monastery and its tall Buddha statue. You'll have free time to relax once you check into your hotel there.

Kaohsiung to Taitung
Go to Kenting National Park and see Maopitou rock formation that looks like a crouching cat, then Chuanfan Rock which resembles a sail. Stop at Eluanpi Lighthouse and Longpan Park for views of the Pacific Ocean. Later, drive along the scenic South Link Highway to Taitung and settle in at a hot spring resort in Zhiben.

Taitung to Yilan
Travel along Taiwan's east coast starting with Xiaoyeliu's rock formations shaped by wind and waves. Cross an arched bridge to reach Sanxiantai offshore island, then continue to Shitiping for its wave-cut platforms and sea cliff views. You'll board a train in Hualien heading to Yilan, arriving at a premium hot spring resort for the evening.
