What people love about Capri Tours
- Discovering Amalfi Coast
Our family of five had a wonderful trip to the Amalfi Coast thanks to our guide, Mary and driver, Angelo! Mary provided us with such great information and history of the area- and pointed out important structures along the way. She knew all the best places to stop for the ideal photos. We even stopped at a lovely fruit stand run by such a nice gentleman who made us the most wonderful freshly squeezed fruit juice!! The entire ride to and from Amalfi was so entertaining and enjoyable because of this Tui team, I forgot to be nervous about the winding cliffside road. Angelo, was such a great and safe driver! It really was a crazy & winding road but Angelo drove so well -handling the curvy roads, the traffic and stop offs for photos so professionally - that I wasn’t nervous at all! When we arrived in Amalfi we had only a short amount of time to stay. Mary took us into town, helpfully explained more of its history pointing to the highlights and showed us the best olive oil and balsamic vinegar store! She really saved us so much time by listening to what we all wanted to see in such a short amount of time-I truly appreciate how she listened and catered to us! There was one mishap that happened while we were there which delayed this wonderful Tui team in getting back on time and so I greatly apologize for that since it was my fault. Mary worked very hard to help me with a difficult situation that I got myself into with a store owner. Mary could have looked at her watch and said that we have to go now and not to worry but she wanted to help resolve the situation. She communicated professionally with the store owner since I was unable to speak in the language and attempted to resolve the misunderstanding. I want to thank Mary for what she did and also for going the extra mile for a customer. And again I want to apologize for keeping her and Angelo an extra hour later- when they should have been done with our tour already and been back home to their own families! And I also want to mention that I can just imagine that Angelo was also inconvenienced because of my situation and was probably trying to figure out where to park or drive in that busy Amalfi area while we were delayed! Again- so very sorry about that! Mary and Angelo were such a great tour team and we were so blessed that day to have them! We hope that everyone can have such a great experience as we did that day- we will have such good memories of our day in Amalfi because of them. Thank you! Sincerely, Jenny McKeigue
- Sorrento Escape, Private Tour
Our experience with the Sorrento Escape, Private Tour through Tour Radar was nothing short of exceptional. From the very beginning, Yvonne at Tour Radar met our every need with precision and care. Her responses to all of our questions and requests were always prompt, ensuring we felt well taken care of at every stage of planning. The attention to detail was impressive, as every aspect of our trip was meticulously organized from start to finish. We enjoyed private tours and pickups throughout our journey, and each guide and driver was punctual, knowledgeable, and an absolute pleasure to spend time with. Their expertise added an enriching layer to our experience, making each location we visited come to life. The tour itself was perfectly balanced, allowing us to fully explore the stunning coastline and the island of Capri. We had ample time to visit famous landmarks, enjoy the best local cuisine, and still have plenty of moments to relax and unwind. Overall, the Sorrento Escape was a flawless blend of adventure and relaxation, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore this beautiful region with top-notch service.
- 5 Day Naples including Sorrento, Amalfi, Capri Island, Pompeii & Vesuvius.
Wanted to give feedback for your tours. Amalfi Coast tour - driver Mr Rosario was very nice. 1. Request - not to put your customers with cruise passengers. Others yesterday were in such a rush to get back they forced driver to only stay in Amalfi less than an hour. Driver took us to Ravello on way back & wanted to at least let me take a photo of the beautiful view. Other passengers would not let him stop & threatened him if he stopped. Felt bad for driver Mr Rosario. He kept apologizing to me. I barely got time in Amalfi & did not get to even take a photo at Ravello. 2. Also this tour was more time being driven to areas and just dropped off for exploring on own. In Sorento, Positano, Amalfi etc. If that is case would be great to have your company give us a map and suggestions where to go like today. 3. Traffic was so much & heard this is better than summer. Most of time of tour was spent in the van. (Plus it was full. I was squeezed in middle seat in front) Would it be better to book with company like today that takes boat to Amalfi coast and then drive to Sorrento. Just thought Today’s tour well organized. Informative. Tour guide Eliana was so animated and made it fun. Enjoyed boat ride to Capri and then tour around island. Very organized. Thanks for heads up about 5 EURO cash. They also offer their own bus to Anacapri, Capri & then back to port which is 20 EURO but only cash. They also let you buy the chairlift ticket from them so you can skip long line which was great but only cash. So 34 Euro cash. Wish they took credit card. They gave us all maps & great suggestions what to do so I did not have to google or research on my own. Only suggestion- if they can please try to bring groups straight back. We met at port at 4:15pm to return and just got back to hotel at 7:20pm bc bus made 4 stops total elsewhere to drop off and boat had 2 drop offs. Overall I am truly enjoying and impressed so far with STM’s organization and attention to detail. Wish TourRadar had recommended you guys for my Switzerland tour also. But all good. Thank you for your flexibility, organization, attention to detail and immediate prompt responses!
What our customers ask about Capri Tours & Trips
What are the must-see attractions for first-time visitors to Capri?
The island's main draws center around natural wonders and historic sites. The Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra) is the star attraction where sunlight creates an ethereal blue glow in the cave waters. The Gardens of Augustus offer sweeping views of the Faraglioni rocks jutting from the Mediterranean while the lively Piazzetta serves as Capri town's beating heart. A boat tour around the island reveals hidden caves and secluded swimming spots. Both Marina Grande and Marina Piccola showcase the island's maritime charm. In Anacapri the Villa San Michele provides panoramic views across the Bay of Naples. As a TourRadar traveler notes: "The boat tour around Capri was beautiful and fun. The grottos for swimming were amazing. A boat tour is definitely the way to see the Amalfi coast."
Where are the best hotels to stay in Capri?
Capri's accommodation options span from luxurious resorts to boutique properties. The Hotel Bougainville in Capri Town combines modern amenities with classic Mediterranean style offering sea views from many rooms. For a quieter setting the Hotel San Michele in Anacapri features terraces overlooking the coastline. Near the Piazzetta the historic Grand Hotel Quisisana represents old-world Italian glamour with contemporary comforts. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The accommodation was very comfortable and welcoming all with ensuite bathroom and lovely rural views."
How much money should I budget for a day in Capri?
Expect higher prices than mainland Italy with guided tours ranging from 295-881 USD per day. Daily costs typically include 100 USD for meals at mid-range restaurants 20-30 USD for local transport and entrance fees like the Blue Grotto at 30 USD. While organized tours cover major attractions additional expenses arise from shopping at designer boutiques around the Piazzetta or dining at upscale restaurants. TourRadar travelers recommend setting aside extra funds for "optional activities and local experiences not included in tour packages."
What are the best times to visit Capri to avoid peak tourist crowds?
The sweet spot for visiting falls between April-May or September-October. During these months the weather remains pleasant and the crowds thin out considerably. Properties like the Grand Hotel Vesuvio operate at lower capacity making for a more relaxed stay. The summer high season (June-August) brings intense crowds to main attractions especially the Blue Grotto and Piazzetta. According to a TourRadar traveler "The morning boat tours around the island were much less crowded and offered incredible views of the Faraglioni rocks."
How do I get to Capri from the mainland?
Regular ferry and hydrofoil services connect Capri to Naples (45 minutes) and Sorrento (20-30 minutes). Boats depart from Naples' Molo Beverello port and Sorrento's Marina Piccola arriving at Capri's Marina Grande. From there the funicular railway climbs to Capri town. Many hotels including the Grand Hotel Vesuvio can arrange transfers. Most organized tours include round-trip ferry transportation and ground transfers in their packages.
Is swimming possible around Capri?
Swimming conditions are excellent from May to October with water temperatures reaching 75°F (24°C) in summer months. Marina Piccola and the waters near the Faraglioni rocks offer clear protected spots for swimming. Boat tours frequently include swimming breaks at secluded locations depending on weather conditions. A TourRadar traveler reports: "We had multiple opportunities to swim in crystal-clear waters during our boat tour around the island with the captain finding perfect spots away from the crowds."
