7 Days in Amalfi Coast, incl. Capri and Positano
Set sail on a luxury catamaran for 7 days along the Amalfi Coast, from Castellammare di Stabia to Pompeii. Glide into Procida's Corricella bay, soak in Ischia's Sorgeto Bay thermal pools, and wander Capri's famous Piazzetta. Special touches include wine tastings at Scala Fenicia, pizza-making in Sorrento, and guided Pompeii tours.
- Day 1
Castellammare di Stabia to Procida
Begin your journey from Castellammare di Stabia, located 30 minutes south of Naples. The 2-hour sail to Procida gives you great views of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. Stop at Corricella bay with its beautiful cascade of pastel fishing houses. A recent visitor shared: "The sunset view of Procida's harbor from the water is unforgettable—get your camera ready around 7 PM when the buildings glow orange."
- Day 2
Ischia
Take a quick 45-minute morning sail to Ischia. Stop at San Pancrazio Bay for a swim before visiting the natural thermal pools at Sorgeto Bay. Bring water shoes as the rocks near the pools can be slippery. Get to Forio port by 4 PM to avoid strong afternoon winds. The Santa Maria del Soccorso church sits 25 minutes uphill but offers incredible views of the coast.
- Day 3
Capri
The 2-hour trip from Ischia to Capri takes you past the beautiful Punta Carena lighthouse. Drop anchor in Marina Piccola bay. Visit the island later in the day after the crowds leave—the Piazzetta becomes much more enjoyable after 6 PM. It takes about 20 minutes to walk up to town from Marina Piccola.
- Day 4
Positano
- Day 5
Amalfi
- Day 6
Sorrento
- Day 7
Pompeii
7 Day Amalfi Coast Itinerary, incl. Sorrento and Positano
A luxurious 7-day stay along the coast features 2 nights each at Grand Hotel Vesuvio Sorrento, Hotel Bougainville Capri, and Hotel l'Ancora Positano. Take in the mystical Blue Grotto, marvel at Anacapri's 280-meter summit views, and stroll the charming Via Pasitea in Positano.
- Day 1
Rome to Sorrento
- Day 2
Pompeii Excursion
Arrive at Pompeii before 9 AM to avoid crowds and peak heat. Pack water and sun protection since the ruins offer little shade. A guided tour typically takes 3 hours. Skip-the-line tickets are worth the extra cost. One visitor noted: "The personal radio receivers were essential – you can hear the guide clearly even in crowded spots like the Forum." Spend your afternoon swimming at Sorrento's Marina Grande.
- Day 3
Sorrento to Capri
- Day 4
Capri Exploration
- Day 5
Capri to Positano via Sorrento
Take a morning ferry back to Sorrento then catch a bus to Positano. Sit on the right side for the best coastal views. The Positano bus stop is at the town's highest point with most hotels downhill. One visitor advises: "The steps in Positano are no joke – wear proper shoes and consider your hotel's location carefully."
- Day 6
Positano
- Day 7
Positano to Naples
7 Days in Italy, incl. Rome and Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast unfolds over 7 days through Positano's boutiques, Amalfi's Cathedral, Ravello's Villa Rufolo, and Vico Equense's charm. Guests enjoy 3 nights at Domo 20 Hotel, with options for Capri excursions and coastal drives led by expert guides. Daily breakfast and private transfers included.
- Days 1-3
Rome
Book a private transfer from Fiumicino Airport to skip Rome's busy morning traffic. Stay near Termini Station in the historic center for easy access to attractions and your later train to Naples. A previous visitor noted: "The central location saved us time and money on taxis, though the street noise takes getting used to." Plan Day 2 around Rome's main sites. Visit the Colosseum first to avoid midday heat in summer. Schedule the Vatican Museums for early afternoon when crowds are lighter. Your evening is free to discover local restaurants in Trastevere. On Day 3, explore at your own pace. Book the Borghese Gallery for 9AM, then walk through Villa Borghese park to reach the Spanish Steps. Spend your afternoon shopping on Via del Corso or trying authentic restaurants in the Jewish Ghetto.
- Day 4
Rome to Sorrento Coast
Take a high-speed train to Naples (1.5 hours) and stop at Pompeii on your way to Vico Equense. One visitor shared: "The Pompeii guided upgrade was worth it - there's minimal signage and it's easy to miss the key sites without context." Plan 2-3 hours for Pompeii and wear good walking shoes on the uneven streets.

What people love about 7-day Amalfi Coast tours
- Jewels of the Amalfi Coast
Hotels booked were great. Convenient places near the city or easy way to get to the main city area in each city we went to. The last couple of days I wished they booked a boat tour or something in Positano to make it more worth it. The food given was okay could have been better. The transportation everywhere was good though.
- Rome & Amalfi Coast Escapade
A group of 8 of us did the Rome & Amalfi Escapade in April 2024. Omega Tours was easy to book with and communication was great booking the trip, follow-up questions and even while there. We did include for an extra cost transportation from the airport which I would recommend. Our hotel was the Orazio (staff was wonderful, rooms were good with walk-in showers. Not in main attraction area but not too far to walk or taxi for minimal cost). Rome in a Day is just the Colosseum, lunch and Vatican Museums with transportation except to get back to hotel. The tour all depends on which guide you get, our Colosseum guide was wonderful unfortunately our robotic read a script guide for the Vatican was disappointing, especially when we heard from other tours how wonderful their guide was. Train transport to Sorrento was good just wait for area to come up on screen. Pompeii was very interesting, we upgraded for guided tour which I would recommend. Transportation to train station, Pompeii and hotel was flawless. Our hotel was the Domon20 which is very nice. Nice rooms with walk-in showers. Breakfast was outstanding, staff was above and beyond. Rooftop restaurant and bar was very nice wit reasonable prices on drinks and great food. Only downside is location, it is a challenging walk up and down the hill and steps to the town if you have any mobility issues. Amalfi coast drive was also very good, our driver Michael was extremely entertaining even with horrible traffic because of the holiday. Tips-use the train to get to Sorrento from Vico, very reasonable. Station is right downtown, get on and 4th stop is Sorrento.
- Local Living Italy—Sorrento
We enjoyed the range of activities. The tour of Naples had a local guide who provided knowledge specific to the history and people. The tour of Pompei also had a guide with detailed knowledge. Anna was our guide for the rest of the week. It was a full programme but wasn't too much. There were highlights one of which was Capri. Another was The Walk of the Gods. Breakfast was a great gathering occasion to talk amongst ourselves, discuss the days options and swap information gathered about the day. Dinner was always good food and good times enjoyed along the length of the table. Our room and bathroom was very comfortable with effective aircon and space to spread out. Luigi gave us a tour of the lemon farm and explained the methods and routines. He also demonstrated how to make limoncello. The organisation of the accommodation was faultless with, in my experience, any request willingly provided. The property had an efficient method for us to track our additional costs (wine and laundry) for which we paid for at the end. It was a friendly family run business. Everybody seemed to enjoy each other. The views from this property are tremendous especially from the terrace. It is quiet and peaceful, a short distance from Sorrento. Additional transport was available on our free day when we went in different directions and there's a bus stop at the end of the driveway. Anna provided local knowledge of Sorrento, for example good restaurants for lunch and where to swim. My husband and I enjoyed this tour very much. There was a great range of ages. English was the first language for us all. Anna's and the family"s knowledge of English was very good.
