What people love about Mekong Delta Tours
- Best of Cambodia & Vietnam
Absolutely fantastic tour. Both guide had so much knowledge about their respective countries and were both full of energy.

World Class Experience!! Having never travelled before I was blown away with this trip, with Intro Travel, the tour leaders, the activities and accommodations! Absolutely everything was above and beyond what I was expecting! Khao Sok in Thailand what such a stunning place to stay, the floating bungalows were incredible and loved tubing around the waters. Such an epic night out at the full moon beach party dancing the night away with my amazing group till the early hours. Our guide in Vietnam was just awesome, Sammy made everyone feel so welcome and at ease whilst having the time of our lives. From exploring Ninh Binh by bike and boat, to kayaking around Halong Bay and partying on a boat and private island, to catching catfish with your hands in the Mekong Delta...Intro Travel have thought about everything to make the trip as special as it is! The final stop Cambodia was equally as incredible with our leader Will. He was always keen to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves, having a good boogie and was very willing for a good sing song. Koh Rong is definitely a place to remember with the whitest of white sands, crystal clear seas, snorkelling stops, beach volleyball and treehouse bungalows. Essentially it’s the picture on Instagram that you think are 100% filtered but in real life it is that damn beautiful! Thank you so much Intro Travel, Sammy and Will for making my experience travelling Asia so memorable and epic! I’ve met friends for life and made so many extraordinary memories! I would 100% recommend Intro Travel and their Epic Asia tour to anyone who is considering travelling, just go for it because you won’t regret it!

great trip!! we covered lots in the short ten days, and it didn't seem too rushed. our tour leader, mr t, was the BEST! made everything so much fun - even when the weather was against us. this trip had everything - moments of relaxation, but also hustle and bustle, shopping opportunities, cultural sites and insights, lots of great food, and fun! would definitely recommend it if you want to go to vietnam but don't have too much time to spare :)

How long should I plan to spend exploring the Mekong Delta?
A stay of 2-4 days provides enough time to see the essential sights of this water-rich region. Three days strikes the right balance allowing visits to My Tho Ben Tre Can Tho and Chau Doc at a comfortable pace. As one TourRadar traveler mentioned "The 3-day tour gave us the perfect amount of time to see both the bustling markets and peaceful countryside while staying at lovely hotels like the Victoria Chau Doc."
What types of accommodation can I expect in the Mekong Delta region?
From upscale properties like the Victoria Can Tho Resort to family-run homestays in Cai Be and Ben Tre the Delta offers varied sleeping options. Most tours blend different accommodation styles bringing travelers closer to local life. Guests might find themselves at the modern Chau Pho Hotel one night and in a traditional home the next. As one TourRadar traveler shared: "The homestay experience was genuinely warm and we felt very welcomed by Mr. Tang and his wife. Dinner was a delight!"
When is the best time to visit the Mekong Delta region?
December through April marks the dry season when clear skies and mild temperatures create ideal conditions for exploring. This weather makes it easy to visit the busy Cai Rang Floating Market or walk through Ben Tre's coconut farms. As one TourRadar traveler noted "The weather was perfect for exploring the waterways and local villages." The centrally located Harmony Saigon Hotel in District 1 serves as a convenient starting point during these months.
How do I get around the Mekong Delta region?
Getting around involves a mix of modern and traditional transport. Air-conditioned buses connect major towns like Can Tho and Chau Doc while wooden sampan boats navigate narrow waterways. Larger vessels handle river crossings and floating market visits. The trip from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho takes about 4 hours by car. A TourRadar traveler commented: "The mix of transport made the journey exciting - from modern buses to traditional wooden boats."
Is it possible to combine a Mekong Delta tour with other Vietnam destinations?
The Delta's location makes it easy to pair with visits to Ho Chi Minh City Phu Quoc Island or Cambodia. As a TourRadar traveler recommended: "We did a perfect combination starting from Saigon exploring the Delta while staying at the Holiday 2 Hotel Can Tho then continuing to Phnom Penh. The connections were seamless and gave us a great overview of the region."
What are the must-see highlights of a Mekong Delta tour?
The lively Cai Rang Floating Market in Can Tho stands out along with Ben Tre's coconut candy workshops craft villages and river excursions. The Tra Su Forest sanctuary in An Giang deserves attention and properties like the Victoria Chau Doc Hotel offer authentic local experiences. A TourRadar traveler shared "The floating markets and traditional villages were absolutely fascinating giving us real insight into daily life along the Mekong."
