Over the 15-day trek, our group of three forged lasting friendships with our guide, Achut Pandey, and porters who went the extra mile in everything they did to make our journey culturally rewarding and successful. While not for the faint-of-heart, this route offered views of the Himalayas, cultural experiences and mental and physical challenges that can't be found on the more heavily trafficked routes to Everest Base Camp. We were the only people on the trail for most of the trek.
