  A mixed bag. On the go Tours contracted Carrani Tour, which was not our choice. Carrani operation in north Italy was ok, except for the hotel accommodations. We booked 4 stars hotel but some of the rooms were no better than 3 stars, very disappointing. The south Italy operation was chaotic. Our group was split up in three different hotels and could not dine together. Overall, it was an average tour.

  This is the second time I booked with Tour Radar, the first was above average overall but this one was poorly organized from the start. We are a group of 4 from Canada and the US and this is an opportunity for us to spend time together in Italy. We booked separately but specifically insisted on being together, and if one of us can't be confirmed, none of us would go. I was confirmed right away but it took a week for Tour Radar to confirm the other 3. And communication was sloppy between Tour Radar and On the Go. (I have kept the conversation copies) In Rome, there was a confusion with the rooms between the hotels Bettoja Mediterranneo and Massimo and eventually the 4 of us were put in 3 different hotels, me in Hotel Diana 2 blocks away, having breakfasts alone every morning. I spent the first night at the Mediterranneo in a 1-star room no bigger than a dorm room with no refrigerator and a less than twin sized bed even though I had paid an extra $900 for a single occupancy accommodation! In Sorrento, we were promised dinner in, I supposed, a nice restaurant as a group and men were asked to wear a jacket. Instead, we were separated at 2 different hotels, 20 minutes apart and dining at our respective hotels. And it was supposed to be our reunion !! Furthermore, our tour guide Ludovica was absolutely worthless, no help whatsoever. (But to be fair, the first 5 days of the tour was a delight with our tour guide Clara and driver Luigi. They were very professional and deserved to be commanded.) The next afternoon, we were picked up 30 minutes late to go back to Rome, waiting in the heat, out in the street. I felt like Tour Radar had dropped the ball this time around and that I should be reimbursed for a portion of the trip otherwise I will not book with Tour Radar or On The Go again.

  The itinerary was perfect. The tour guide for the North part was excellent but the one in the South wasn't that helpful. The food was average in general, one lunch was quite good but we had two not so good meals. The main problem with my trip is that before booking I sent an email stating that we are a group of 4 people and we would like to have the same bus and the same hotel for the tour. That was the condition before booking, if not we will not go. After one week we got the confirmation that everything is good, go ahead and pay. It turned out that since day one in Rome, they gave us 3 different hotels! Every time in Rome we had to stay in different hotels. Then in Sorrento, again we were separated. Most of the group got nice hotel but we were booked at a hotel that definitely, cannot be considered as a 4* hotel, I would give a 2*. I consider this as a breach of contract because the tour operator did not follow through with our condition for booking.

  The first 7 days were excellent with Clara, our tour guide. She was knowledgeable, coordinated the schedule to make sure everything was on time and everyone was included. She was also fun and interesting with a good sense of humor. The tour guide for the last three day, Ludovica, was not communicative or very friendly. On the day we arrived in Sorrento we were dropped off at a street corner and told our hotel was just up the road. It turns out the hotel was over a mile uphill and Ludovica never mentioned that the hotel would provide a shuttle. We ended up climbing up the hill with our luggage in very hot weather. It is very disappointing that the tour guide did not communicate this.
