Itinerary
- Day 1
Paro
You'll arrive in Paro and your OneSeed representative will meet you at the airport. After checking into your lodge, you can either rest from the flight or take some time to walk around the city and get oriented. It's a good chance to shake off any jet lag before the trek begins tomorrow.

Paro
Following breakfast, you'll drive to the trailhead for Taktsang monastery, also called Tiger's Nest. The hike takes you through pine forest with Spanish moss and prayer flags strung between trees. There's a cafeteria partway up where you can stop and catch your breath. When you reach the monastery at 3,000 feet above the valley, you'll see it clinging to a sheer rock cliff, built in the 1600s.

Jili La Pass
The trek starts with a steady climb toward Jele Dzong as you follow an ancient trade route. You'll reach Jili La Pass at 11,450 feet, and after that the trail drops down to where you'll camp for the night. If weather permits and you have time, walk along the ridge above camp for views of the surrounding mountains. On clear days you might spot Mt. Jomolhari in the distance.

Jangchulakha
After a short climb from camp, the trail opens into a ridge meadow and levels out for a bit. Then you'll have a brief downhill section before climbing again through thick alpine forest to a saddle at 11,778 feet. From there the path continues along the ridge with several ups and downs until you reach the campsite at Jangchulakha, set in a yak pasture.

Jimilangtsho Lake
Starting from camp, you'll climb steeply through juniper forest. The trail levels after that and then gradually rises and falls through dwarf rhododendrons as it heads toward Jangchu La at 13,714 feet. From the pass, you'll descend quite a bit down to the camp at Jimilangtsho Lake, which sits at 12,730 feet.

Mt. Gangkhar Punsum
Head down to the southern end of the lake and climb through more dwarf rhododendrons to reach Jahnye Tsho lake. The path gets wider as it winds uphill through the rhododendrons toward the summit area near your camp. When skies are clear, you'll have views of Mt. Gangkhar Punsum, Bhutan's highest peak.

Paro
You'll complete the trek by descending through pine forest until you reach a ridge marked with a Chorten and prayer flags. On clear days, the snow-covered mountain chain and Thimphu valley spread out below you. Then you'll walk to Thimphu where your car will be waiting. Later that evening you'll have a celebration dinner and finally get a hot shower.

Departure
After having breakfast at your hotel, you'll head to the airport for your flight home. This is when you'll say goodbye to your guides and leave the Dragon Kingdom of Bhutan.
