- Day 1
Arrival
You'll land in Delhi and head to your hotel anytime after noon. Women With Wheels handles your transfer from the airport, so that's sorted. The rest of the day is yours to explore the neighborhood around your hotel and get settled in before everyone meets up in the evening.

Delhi
Today you're seeing two sides of Delhi. Start with a local guide from the City Walk project who takes you through the busy Paharganj district of New Delhi, and you'll learn about how the program works with street youth. After that, you'll hop on a cycle rickshaw to navigate the tight lanes of Old Delhi, stopping at the grand Jama Masjid from the 1600s and the Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, a important Sikh temple.

Delhi to Varanasi
You'll fly to Varanasi, one of Hinduism's holiest cities sitting on the Ganges River. Once there, you can relax at one of the ghats and listen to a local scholar talk about why this place matters spiritually and culturally. Later in the day, you'll take a boat ride on the river and watch the evening aarti ceremony where pilgrims float candles and flowers, something over a million people come to do each year.

Varanasi
Early morning means catching the sunrise from a boat on the Ganges while locals pray and perform rituals along the banks. In the afternoon, you'll head to Sarnath, an archaeological site in a big park where Buddhist tradition says Gautama Buddha gave his first sermon. There's also an optional heritage walk available if you want to dig deeper into local life and how Varanasi connects to Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism.

Varanasi to Lucknow
You'll take a train to Lucknow, once the capital and home to the Muslim nawabs of Oudh who were major supporters of arts and music. The Bara Imambara complex is the main stop, a big 18th-century Shia shrine with a mosque, large hall, and decorative courtyards. Later, a local expert leads a food tour where you'll sample royal dishes from the nawab era and street food ranging from spicy kebabs to curries and sweets.

Lucknow to Agra
You'll travel by private bus to Agra, which was a capital under both the Delhi sultanate and the Mughal Empire. Check in to your hotel and spend the evening relaxing or wandering around on your own to get a feel for the city.

Agra to Ranthambore
This morning you'll see the Taj Mahal, the white marble mausoleum built by Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal and considered one of the finest examples of Mughal design. After that, you'll head to Ranthambore National Park, a famous wildlife reserve that supposedly inspired Rudyard Kipling's jungle stories.

Ranthambore
You'll spend all day at Ranthambore, which used to be a private hunting ground for Jaipur's royal family. Morning and evening safaris take you out with local rangers to look for monkeys, deer, sloth bears, leopards, and if you're fortunate, a Bengal tiger. Between safaris, you can walk around the 10th-century fort ruins and check out the Trinetra Ganesha Temple.

Ranthambore to Jaipur
After breakfast you'll drive to Jaipur, Rajasthan's capital with its palaces, temples, and busy markets. Upon arrival, you'll visit the Anoothi Project where women from marginalized communities practice traditional block printing. You can try block printing yourself, chat with the women about their collective, and have some homemade chai and pakoras. The rest of your evening is free time.

Jaipur
Today covers Jaipur's main sights, called the Pink City for its rose-colored buildings. You'll tour the sprawling Amber Fort, the former home of the city's Rajput rulers, and see the Hawa Mahal with its distinctive honeycomb windows. The City Palace museum has rich collections, and you'll also stop at the Jantar Mantar, an 18th-century royal observatory. That evening, you'll have dinner at a local family's home, including a market visit and cooking demonstration.

Jaipur to Pushkar
You'll head to Pushkar, a Hindu pilgrimage site centered around a sacred lake with stone steps leading down to the water. An orientation walk takes you to the 14th-century Brahma Temple and along the lakefront. From there you'll go to Dungriya Khurd Village where your resort camp is built in traditional local style. You can chat with villagers to see rural Rajasthani life and enjoy dinner with traditional food and local customs.

Pushkar to Udaipur
You'll travel to Udaipur, known as the City of Lakes. An orientation walk through the old streets and markets gives you a sense of the place, then you'll take a boat on Lake Pichola to see the marble palaces including the Lake Palace, which is now a hotel sitting on a small island in the water.

Udaipur
This day focuses on Udaipur's royal history. You'll visit the City Palace, the biggest palace complex in Rajasthan, and step into Jagdish Temple dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. During free time, consider heading to the hilltop Monsoon Palace for sunset views across the city's lakes. Later, there's an optional yoga class to relax and stretch.
