Itinerary
- Day 1
Cappadocia
You'll arrive in Cappadocia at your own pace and settle into your accommodation. Later in the evening, your guide meets with the group to go over what's coming this week, share local insights, and answer any questions you might have about the region.
- Day 2
Cappadocia - Akvadi - Uchisar - Goreme
This morning you'll trek through Akvadi valley, walking past eroded rock formations and the distinctive fairy chimneys while watching for hoopoes and foxes along the way. After roughly three hours you'll reach Uchisar village for lunch at a local restaurant. From there, it's a climb up to the rock citadel for views across the landscape. The afternoon takes you to Pigeon Valley before heading back to Goreme for the evening.

Cappadocia - Zemi Valley - Ayvalı - Mustafapaşa
You have the option for an early morning hot-air balloon ride if the weather cooperates, floating over Cappadocia's valleys and formations. Later you'll trek through Zemi Valley, passing through orchards and tunnels to reach a viewpoint. After lunch, a bus transfer takes you to Ayvalı where you'll walk through Gomeda Valley to Mustafapaşa village. There you'll stop for tea and wander through this historic town, noting its Greek architectural elements from centuries past.

Cappadocia - Pancarlik Valley - Kizilcukur (Red Valley)
You'll head by bus to Pancarlik Valley with its distinctive smooth, wave-like rock formations and surrounding vineyards. During the trek you can look for Sarica and Kepez churches carved directly into the rock chimneys. After lunch, you'll move on to Kizilcukur (Red Valley) for an afternoon walk through rock churches, finishing in Cavusin village where you can watch the sun set over the landscape.

Cappadocia - Pasabaglari (Monk's Valley) - Bozdag
This morning you'll trek through Pasabaglari to see hermit dwellings carved high into rock chimneys with foot holes and ropes carved in for climbing. You'll realize how spacious some rooms are, with certain chambers reaching up to 50 feet high. From there you'll continue uphill to Bozdag, the highest point in the region, for views that take in the whole area.

Cappadocia - Kaymakli - Selime - Belisirma - Ihlara Valley
You'll transfer to Kaymakli, an underground city built by early Christians who needed shelter from religious persecution. Walking through its network of tunnels and caves, you'll find communal spaces, kitchens, stables, a church, and a graveyard all carved into the rock. After exploring, you'll head to Selime village and walk along the Melendiz River to Belisirma for lunch. The afternoon involves trekking down Ihlara Valley, the deepest and longest valley in the region, passing Byzantine monasteries and churches dating to the 11th century.

Cappadocia - Zindanonu Valley - Goreme
You'll trek through Zindanonu Valley and up to a viewpoint overlooking Goreme town and the Goreme Open-Air Museum. From there, you'll explore Goreme Valley itself, which holds some of the finest painted cave churches in Cappadocia. Orthodox monks carved these churches from soft volcanic stone between 1000 and 1200 CE, decorating them with Byzantine frescoes that many remain visible today. The rest of the day is yours to relax and think back on your week of trekking.
