Itinerary
- Day 1
Paris to Amboise
You'll take the TGV train from Paris to Saint Pierre des Corps, then arrange a taxi to get you to your hotel in Amboise. Once you arrive, spend the rest of the day settling in and getting ready for your cycling adventure through the Loire Valley. It's a straightforward travel day, so you'll have time to relax and prepare for what's ahead.
- Day 2
Amboise
Start cycling through the countryside forests around Amboise, passing by Parc Mini Chateaux on your way to Chenonceau Castle with time to look around properly. From there, ride to Civray and hop into a canoe for a 2-hour journey downstream, paddling right under Chateau de Chenonceau. After you finish paddling, bike back to Amboise where you'll have chocolate tasting in front of the chateau to wrap up the day.

Amboise to Tours
You'll cycle out of Amboise through the Montlouis vineyards on paths designed for bikes, heading toward Tours. Stop for lunch in the city, then walk through the medieval Old Town with its half-timbered buildings. Spend time at La Place Plumereau square, which is full of pubs and restaurants with outdoor seating where locals and visitors hang out.

Tours to Azay-le-Rideau
This is an easy bike ride from Tours through Savonnieres toward the gardens at Villandry, which were designed to work with the Renaissance buildings around them. Keep cycling to Azay-le-Rideau to see the chateau sitting on the Indre River, built during the Middle Ages. If you want a longer route, you can add a stop at Chateau de Sache, where the writer Balzac used to live.

Azay-le-Rideau to Chinon
Today you're exploring medieval chateaux throughout the Loire Valley. First stop is Langeais, where the castle served as a temporary stronghold during the Hundred Years War. Then head to Chateau d'Ussé, which inspired the Sleeping Beauty story. Finish your day in Chinon where you can taste local wines that appear in writings by Francois Rabelais.

Chinon
You have options for how to spend your day around Chinon. Choose between an 8.5km hike through vineyards, a 44km bike ride through sunflower fields and vineyards, or head to the Adventure Park for zip lining and tree activities (which is a 20km bike ride to reach). After you finish, head back to your hotel for the evening.

Chinon to Paris
