Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Beaune

You'll arrive in Beaune, Burgundy's wine capital, with the afternoon and evening ahead of you. Take some time to wander through the city center and check out the Hotel Dieu, also called the Hospices de Beaune, which is the main draw for most visitors. The building itself is quite striking with its colorful tile roof and courtyard. In the evening, your guide will meet you for an orientation session to go over what's coming up in the next few days.

  2. Day 2

    Côtes de Beaune Vineyards

This is a cycling day through some of Burgundy's most famous vineyard areas. You'll start from Beaune and head south through the Côtes de Beaune region, stopping at villages like Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chagny, Pommard, and Santenay along the way. The route takes you back to Beaune by the end of the day. You'll have chances to stop at local wineries, taste different wines, and pick up a bottle or two if something catches your interest. The pace is leisurely enough that you can take breaks and enjoy the countryside.

  3. Day 3

    Vosnes Romanée - Clos Vougeot

After breakfast, you'll cycle from Beaune toward the small village of Vosnes Romanée, following gentle rolling roads through vineyard landscapes. One of the highlights is visiting Clos Vougeot, a large historic vineyard that produces some of Burgundy's Grand Cru wines. The terrain here is easier than some other routes, so you'll have time to take in the views and maybe chat with locals along the way. By evening you'll return to Beaune.

    Côtes de Nuits Vineyards

You'll cycle through the Côtes de Nuits vineyards heading between Beaune and Dijon, passing through small villages known for their wine production. Chambolle Musigny, Morey Saint Denis, and Gevrey Chambertin are all on the route, and Gevrey Chambertin has a medieval castle that's worth seeing. The roads connect these charming villages through working vineyard land, so the scenery is consistently beautiful. This route gives you a sense of the different microclimates and soil types that make each village's wines distinct.

Customer Reviews

This was an excellent tour. The sights we saw and the villages we traveled through were amazing. The hotels were comfortable and the included meals delicious. We felt very comfortable travelling alone. The route was well planned and well communicated through the app. The Discover France team was very responsive, helping us to upgrade our bike choice a few days before the trip and helping us recover a bag that was overlooked during the luggage transfer. We highly recommend Discover France and the Provence Secrets - Pont du Gard route.

Some replacement hotels were not up to expectations and a refund should have been offered for the basic accommodation
