- Day 1
Lilongwe to South Luangwa National Park
After breakfast in Lilongwe, you'll be transferred by road toward the Chipata border to meet the Zambian safari team. The drive takes you through rural landscapes and traditional villages into South Luangwa National Park, arriving at your lodge around lunchtime. In the afternoon, head out on a game drive where you might spot elephants, giraffes, buffalo, hippos, and leopards as the sun sets over the Luangwa Valley.

South Luangwa National Park
This entire day focuses on exploring South Luangwa's wildlife. After breakfast, head out on a morning game drive as the park comes alive at first light. Midway through, pause for a bush breakfast surrounded by nature. Back at the lodge for lunch and a rest, then set out again at 2:00 PM for an afternoon game drive where you might see big cats preparing for their evening hunt. You'll return to the lodge around 6:00 PM for dinner.

South Luangwa National Park to Lusaka
Begin with an early morning walking safari at sunrise, experiencing the bush on foot with guides who point out fresh tracks, hidden birds, and wildlife rhythms. Return to the lodge for breakfast, then check out and transfer to Mfuwe International Airport for your flight to Lusaka on Proflight. After arriving at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, you'll be transferred to a hotel in Lusaka. In the afternoon, visit the Lusaka National Museum and Kabwata Cultural Village to explore cultural heritage and interact with local artisans. At 5:00 PM, attend a meet-and-greet briefing session at your lodge.

Lusaka to Kafue National Park
Your Busanga Plains adventure starts with a very early departure at 4:00 AM from Lusaka. Travel west along the M9 road through small towns and rural landscapes toward Mumbwa, passing through miombo woodland. Cross the famous Hook Bridge where the Kafue River runs beneath, then continue north into Kafue National Park's remote interior. You'll arrive at camp around midday for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, head out on a game drive across the plains where predators and herbivores roam, returning at sunset for dinner.

- Day 5
Busanga Plains, Kafue National Park
Dedicate this full day to exploring Busanga Plains, one of Zambia's most pristine wildlife areas. Start with breakfast at 6:30 AM, then depart on a morning game drive at 7:30 AM in open safari vehicles to look for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, and various antelope species. Pause at 10:30 AM for mid-morning refreshments. Around 12:30 PM, stop for lunch at a scenic spot, then continue with an afternoon game drive from 2:00 PM. Return to camp by 6:00 PM to watch the sunset, followed by dinner.

Landmarks Busanga Plains - Day 6
Busanga Plains to Lusaka
Start with an early breakfast at 6:00 AM, then head out on a final game drive through the Busanga Plains from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM. Spot lions, leopards, elephants, and various antelope species one last time. Depart at 8:30 AM and drive toward the park exit gate, crossing the Kafue Hook Bridge before joining the M9 highway back to Lusaka. You'll arrive in Lusaka around 4:30 PM and check in at your hotel. Rest and freshen up for the following day's travel.

Landmarks Busanga Plains Hook Bridge - Day 7
Lusaka to Lower Zambezi Valley
Rise early and have breakfast at your hotel at 6:30 AM, then depart Lusaka at 7:30 AM. Drive through the city and descend the escarpment into the Zambezi Valley along the D152/RD491 route. After passing Kafue town around 9:50 AM, pause at the historic Kafue Railway Bridge, built in 1906, where your guide shares stories about this 13-truss landmark. Arrive in Chirundu town around noon for lunch (self-pay), then continue on gravel roads into the Lower Zambezi Game Management Area. Check in at Masawu River Camp around 3:30 to 4:30 PM, with a possible cultural tour to Chiawa Village before dinner.

Landmarks Kafue Railway Bridge Kafue River Chirundu - Day 8
Lower Zambezi National Park
Wake at 6:30 AM, freshen up, and have a light breakfast or tea. Depart from Masawu River Camp at 6:40 AM in either a closed or open safari vehicle depending on Tsetse fly conditions. Spend the morning spotting elephants, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, and antelopes along the riverbanks in the Game Management Area, then enter the main Lower Zambezi National Park after paying entry fees. Explore different park loops in search of predators and wildlife. Stop around 12:30 PM for lunch at a water pool surrounded by scenic landscape. Continue afternoon game viewing, then return to camp for dinner at 7:30 PM.

Lower Zambezi Valley to Lusaka
Wake at 6:30 AM at Masawu River Camp, take a warm shower, and have a hearty breakfast. Check out at 7:30 AM and board your vehicle for the return trip to Lusaka. Travel back through Chirundu town, Kafue, and scenic landscapes, enjoying views of the Zambezi Valley escarpment and Kafue River. You'll arrive in Lusaka around midday with the option to check in at a hotel (own arrangement and self-pay) or head directly to Kenneth Kaunda International Airport for your onward flight. This marks the end of your 9-day wildlife adventure.
