You'll land in Prague and get to your hotel in the center of the city. Once you drop your bags off, take a walk through the old streets to get a feel for the winter vibe. Wenceslas Square has festive markets set up where you can pick up a warm mulled wine and grab some trdelník, the traditional pastry that's pretty much everywhere during the holidays.

Prague
Today's about exploring Prague's main attractions during the holiday season. Head to Old Town Square to see the Christmas market and the big tree, then cross the famous Charles Bridge with views of the castle on the hill. After that, walk through the castle grounds and check out Golden Lane. You'll see lots of Gothic and Baroque buildings along the way, including the Astronomical Clock, and the whole city has that festive Advent feeling right now.

Walk through the Jewish Quarter to learn about its history, visit the Church of St. James the Greater and other spiritual sites, and find peaceful spots away from the crowds. Finish the afternoon at Vyšehrad fortress where you can watch the sunset over the snowy Vltava River and see the basilica lit up as it gets dark.

You'll travel to Český Krumlov, a beautiful town south of Prague. The narrow medieval streets are covered in snow and the squares sparkle with holiday decorations. Tour the State Castle and get the views from the Cloak Bridge that everyone talks about, wander through the Castle Garden in its winter state, check out the festive markets at Svornosti Square, and see the Gothic Church of St. Vitus while you're there.
