London
Start with a guided city tour covering Westminster, Parliament, the City, and the Thames. The afternoon is yours to do what you want, though there's an optional trip to Windsor and Windsor Castle in the Thames Valley if you're interested. In the evening, meet up at Piccadilly and walk through Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho's theaters and entertainment spots before heading back by bus.

- Day 4
London to Durham
Head north through England toward Cambridge, where you'll see the colleges there. After grabbing lunch, continue on to York to check out the cathedral, Roman walls, and busy shopping streets with free time to look around. By evening you'll arrive in Durham, a medieval town where the cathedral sits right in front of the castle.

- Day 5
Durham to Edinburgh
Travel into Scotland with a stop in Alnwick, a town known for its gardens and the medieval castle from the Harry Potter films. Then continue to Edinburgh, getting there around midday. A local guide takes you on a panoramic tour of Scotland's capital, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where Edinburgh Castle overlooks steep streets and green spaces.

- Day 7
Edinburgh to Inverness
After leaving Edinburgh, you'll photograph The Kelpies, those massive horse head sculptures from Scottish mythology. Move on to Stirling to see its impressive castle (admission's covered). Head north to Pitlochry in the whisky region with time for lunch and a walk around. Stop at Culloden, where an important Scottish battle took place. You'll finish in Inverness, the Highlands' capital, where the castle stands out. There's a suggested walk along the River Ness and across the suspension bridge if you want.

- Day 8
Inverness
Spend the day in northern Scotland's forests, lochs, and dramatic landscapes. Visit Eilean Donan Castle on the fjord (ticket included), then stop at Fort Augustus to see the sluice gate system with time for lunch. An included boat tour takes you out on Loch Ness's mysterious waters, and you'll see medieval Urquhart Castle (admission covered). End the day at a traditional whiskey distillery learning about Scotland's national drink, with tasting included, before heading back to Inverness.

Inverness to Glasgow
Continue through the Scottish landscape. Stop in Spean Bridge at a World War II monument, then reach Fort William at the base of Ben Nevis, the UK's highest mountain. Pass by Kilchurn Castle with its ruins beside a dark lake. Arrive in Inveraray, a historic village on Loch Fyne with a castle and quiet streets, stopping for lunch. Head back along Loch Lomond's shores and arrive in Glasgow by evening with time to check out the vibrant city center.

Glasgow to Dublin
Leave Glasgow heading south to catch a ferry from Cairnryan. Cross to Northern Ireland and arrive in Belfast, a city working through its historical challenges. Then continue into the Republic of Ireland, ending the day in Dublin where you'll arrive by evening.

Dublin

Dublin to Liverpool

Liverpool to Birmingham

Stop for lunch in Lichfield, a small charming town with cobbled streets and a medieval cathedral with three spires. Continue to Birmingham, the UK's second-largest city, which was huge during the Industrial Revolution. Now it's a vibrant cultural and economic center. Consider exploring the town hall area and the canal network, which is actually bigger than Venice's and now has restaurants and entertainment.

Birmingham to Bath
Travel to Stratford, a city founded in the 12th century on the River Avon and famous as William Shakespeare's birthplace. There's an optional visit to his birth house if you're interested. Pass through scenic countryside with small villages to reach Stow on the Wold, a charming village with stone houses, a picturesque square, art galleries, and antique shops. Continue to Gloucester with lunch time at the lively docks and explore the historic center with its grand cathedral, where some Harry Potter scenes were shot. End in Bath, famous for hot springs and Georgian architecture, with an optional visit to the Roman baths.
