Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival
You'll get settled into your hotel after your transfer arrives. Take some time to get your room organized and grab what you need. Check with the hotel reception in the afternoon, they'll have information boards with all the details about when your tour kicks off.
- Day 2
Lisbon
Morning takes you through Lisbon's seven hills with a guided sightseeing tour through the charming alleys and traditional Portuguese tiles. Head to Belem neighborhood where you'll see where 15th-century navigators launched their ocean voyages. Afternoon opens up for you to wander through Bairro Alto at your own pace and check out the viewpoint there. There's an optional trip to Sintra, Cascais and Estoril if you want it. By evening, you'll get a transfer back from Restauradores Square.

Lisbon to Madrid
Leave Portugal early and head through the Alentejo region toward Spain. Stop in Estremoz, a medieval town with a castle and cobblestone streets, where you'll grab coffee. Later you'll reach Caceres for lunch and time to walk through the historic medieval and Renaissance center. You'll arrive in Madrid by evening and get transferred to Plaza Mayor.

Madrid
Morning covers central Madrid's main sights including Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Neptuno, Puerta de Alcala, Plaza de Colon, and Plaza Mayor with a comprehensive tour. Then you'll spend time in Retiro Park walking around the lake and seeing the Palacio de Cristal. There's a tour of Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, home of Real Madrid. Free time in the afternoon to do your own thing. Evening transfer gets you back to the hotel.

Madrid to Barcelona
Travel through Castile into Aragon and stop in Zaragoza to see the Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar. You'll visit Poblet Abbey, a medieval monastery that's one of the best-preserved around. After that, head to Barcelona where you'll arrive in the evening.

Barcelona

You'll explore the legacy of World Expositions and Olympic Games that shaped the city. The tour wraps up at Maremagnum, a modern leisure and dining complex by the sea near Columbus Square. Free time in the afternoon before heading back to your hotel.

Barcelona to Paris
Head to the station for your high-speed train from Barcelona to Paris, which takes over 6 hours of comfortable travel. Once you arrive, you'll get transferred to your hotel. Your guide will either contact you in the evening or leave information at the hotel reception. Note that you'll travel without an Europamundo guide during this journey.

Paris
Visit the Palace of Versailles with its beautiful gardens, then return to Paris to explore Montmartre, the bohemian neighborhood known for artists, painters, and cabarets. A local guide leads a panoramic city tour showing off Paris's impressive avenues and iconic monuments. You'll get back to your hotel, and there's an optional evening variety show if you're interested.

Paris
Start in central Paris at the Eiffel Tower and go up to the second floor of this famous iron structure. After that, relax on a boat cruise along the Seine for about an hour and fifteen minutes. Free afternoon to explore the city on your own. Keep in mind that if Eiffel Tower wait times get too long, your visit might shift to a different time or get rescheduled to Sunday.

Paris to Lyon
Travel through the Bourgogne region, famous for vineyards and quality wines. Stop in Beaune, a charming town with flower-filled streets, a hospice, and wine museum where you'll have free time to grab lunch and walk around. Continue to Lyon, the former Roman capital on the Rhone River, and take a cable car up to Notre-Dame de Fourviere for city views. You'll have free time to explore. Note: some groups stay in Chambery instead with morning time to visit this medieval-style Savoy capital.

Lyon to Zurich
Travel to Switzerland and stop in Geneva to see the Palace of Nations (UN European headquarters) and the English Garden with its flower clock. You'll check out the Jet d'Eau, Europe's tallest fountain. After lunch, continue along scenic routes by Lake Geneva and Lake Neuchatel. In Neuchatel, there's time to walk by the lake, explore the historic center, or visit the 10th-century castle. You'll reach Zurich in the late afternoon. Note: depending on group size, the Geneva to Zurich journey may be by train instead, with no Neuchatel stop.

Explore Zurich with your guide, Switzerland's largest city and its financial and cultural center, recognized twice for best quality of life. You'll go on a scenic cruise for nearly two hours on Lake Zurich with brief stops in charming villages. Disembark in Rapperswil to see the medieval castle and explore the village. Return to Zurich by train. Depending on group size, transfers to and from the city center may use public transport.

Zurich to Interlaken to Lucerne
Head through stunning landscapes with tall mountains and pristine lakes in the Interlaken region. Stop in Grindelwald for coffee, then take a cable car up the mountain. Walk along a winding path to a suspended bridge with great glacier views. Lunch is included up on the mountain. Later, continue to Lucerne, one of Switzerland's most beautiful cities, with time to explore the charming cityscape. You'll return to Zurich. There's an optional full-day Mount Titlis excursion available, with a rotating cable car to the 3,000+ meter alpine summit offering glacier and Alps views.

Leave Zurich early, crossing the Alps to reach the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. Stop in Bellinzona to see its three medieval castles, UNESCO World Heritage Sites sitting on hills above the city. You'll have free time to wander the charming center. Then enter Italy and stop in Como, the jewel of Lombardy with beautiful lakeside gardens and a spectacular cathedral. After lunch, continue to Milan where your guide will visit the impressive Piazza del Duomo. You'll have some time to wander before your hotel transfer.

Milan to Rome

Rome
Morning offers a three-hour guided tour combining walking through Imperial Rome with a panoramic bus ride through one of the oldest and most influential cities in Western civilization. You'll see the Arch of Constantine, Colosseum exterior, Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, Baths of Caracalla, Basilica of Saint Mary Major, Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant'Angelo. The tour finishes around 11:00 a.m. at Vatican City with an optional visit to Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel available. Evening takes you to Trastevere neighborhood known for cozy restaurants and lively atmosphere. You'll return to your hotel around 8:30 p.m.
