Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Sri Lanka & Negombo
You'll arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and get transferred to Negombo, a coastal town about 20 minutes away. After you settle into your hotel, the day is yours to unwind however you like. Some people hit the beach for a swim, others prefer lounging by the pool. Later in the evening, your tour guide will meet with you to go over what's coming up on the trip.

Negombo Coastal Culture & Heritage
Negombo has plenty to see if you're interested in exploring. Start by checking out St. Mary's Church and Katuwapitiya Church, then walk through a local Buddhist temple. The narrow streets here have real character, and you can see the old Dutch-era Hamilton Canal. The fish market is busy and worth a look if you want to see local activity. You'll also have time on Negombo Beach itself. Your guide will use the evening to plan what comes next.

Negombo to Wilpattu via Anawilundawa
You'll leave Negombo early and head to Anawilundawa Wetland Sanctuary for some birdwatching, where you can spot migratory birds in their natural habitat. After that, you're off to Wilpattu National Park, Sri Lanka's largest and oldest national park, known for its distinctive 'villus' lakes. In the afternoon, you'll do a half-day jeep safari looking for leopards, elephants, and sloth bears. By evening you'll be at your accommodation near the park.

- Day 4
Dambulla Cave Temple, Sigiriya Rock, & Village Experience
This day is full. After breakfast, you'll head to Dambulla to see the Cave Temple with its five caves containing over 150 Buddha statues and ancient murals from 2,000 years ago. Then you'll climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress, going up 200 meters to see water gardens, mirror walls, and frescoes before reaching the summit for 360-degree views. The afternoon includes a bullock cart ride through village paths, canoeing on a lake, and eating traditional Sri Lankan lunch cooked over a wood fire by locals. You'll finish in Habarana.

- Day 5
Full-Day Safari Adventure in Minneriya National Park
You'll spend the full day at Minneriya National Park doing a game drive with a professional naturalist and driver. The park is famous for the 'Gathering' when hundreds of wild elephants come together seasonally, and you'll also see Sambar deer, spotted deer, sloth bears, leopards, crocodiles, wild buffalo, and many bird species. You'll travel through dry-zone forests, grasslands, and wetlands with stops for photos at watering holes. A packed lunch can be arranged if you want, served in a safe area. You'll be back in Habarana by evening.

Afternoon Safari at Hurulu Eco Park
The morning is relaxed at your hotel with free time to do what you want. In the afternoon, you'll go to Hurulu Eco Park, a quieter alternative to busier parks and part of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve where elephants migrate. The safari here feels more intimate as you move through dry-zone forests and grasslands. You're likely to spot wild elephants, especially during the dry season, and it's a good spot for wildlife and landscape photography. Dinner and rest follow back at your Habarana hotel.

Habarana to Colombo Airport Departure
After breakfast, you'll drive back to Colombo International Airport, a journey taking roughly 2 hours 20 minutes to 2 hours 55 minutes depending on your route and traffic conditions. The drive gives you time to think back on the trip. If your flight schedule allows, there might be a chance to stop for refreshments or pick up souvenirs. Once at the airport, you'll get help with departure procedures and then it's time to say goodbye to Sri Lanka.
