Chongqing
Start your morning at E'ling Park on Chongqing's west side, then head over to ride Asia's longest escalator. After that, you'll take the light rail through Liziba Station, which has the unique feature of passing right through a residential building. Stop by the Great Hall of the People to see this historic structure, and grab lunch at a local spot serving Chongqing hotpot, the city's signature dish. In the afternoon, take a scenic cable car across the Yangtze River. Wrap up your day at Hongya Cave, where you can walk through ancient stilted buildings and check out the WWII monument before heading back to your hotel.

Chongqing
Spend your morning at Baodingshan Carvings, a UNESCO site with rock art carved between the late 1100s and mid-1200s. The carvings show Tantric Buddhism themes mixed with everyday life scenes, and you'll see about 500 meters of west-side carvings split into 31 different sections. After lunch, head to Ciqikou Old Town, also called Porcelain Village, which dates back to the late Ming Dynasty. Wander through the district and take in the traditional bamboo and timber buildings with their blue bricks, white walls, and red doors. The architecture here reflects the area's authentic historical character. You'll return to your hotel in the evening.
