Itinerary
- Day 1
Bangkok Arrival
You'll meet your guide at Bangkok airport Gate 4 and transfer to your hotel. Once you've checked in and got settled, the rest of the day is yours to relax and adjust to the time zone.
- Day 2
Bangkok
After breakfast, you'll start at the Grand Royal Palace and Wat Phra Kaew to see the Emerald Buddha. Next, Wat Pho shows you the massive Reclining Buddha, then you'll wander through Chinatown's streets and stop at Wat Traimit for the Golden Buddha. By evening, a long-tail boat takes you along the Chao Phraya River through Thonburi's canals, passing Wat Arun before heading back to your hotel.

Bangkok to Kanchanaburi
You'll drive out to Samut Songkhram Province through the countryside. The Mae Klong Railway Market shows vendors clearing their stalls when trains arrive, then you'll paddle through Damnoen Saduak Floating Market's canals (or visit quieter Tha Kha market on weekends). After lunch, the Jeath War Museum in Kanchanaburi covers WWII history, and you'll ride a scenic train before returning to your hotel.

Kanchanaburi to Ayutthaya
Following breakfast, you'll head to Erawan National Park and hike up through its seven-tiered waterfall, stopping at each level and swimming in the natural pools if you like. In the afternoon, you'll drive to Ayutthaya, the old riverside capital founded in 1350 that earned the nickname 'Venice of the East.'

Ayutthaya to Chiang Rai
You'll ride in a distinctive green Kermit tuk tuk through Ayutthaya's temples, visiting Wat Yai Chaimongkol, Wat Mahathat with its famous tree-grown Buddha face, and Wat Phra Srisanphet. A local market stop gives you a feel for the city, then Bang Pa-In Summer Palace displays its mix of European, Khmer, Thai and Chinese styles. After flying to Chiang Rai, you'll transfer to your hotel with free time.

The Black House (Baan Ram) combines traditional northern Thai architecture with modern work by artist Thawan Duchanee. Following lunch on your own, a Mae Kok River boat trip takes you to a Karen village before you return.

You'll drive north through wooded, mountainous terrain dotted with tea plantations to Mae Salong and sample local tea at a plantation. An Akah ethnic village visit (Loyo) and Mae Fah Luang botanical garden follow before you reach the Golden Triangle, where a Mekong River boat shows you where Thailand, Burma and Laos meet.

After breakfast, you'll drive toward Thaton and stop at Patai village to meet Padong Karen women known for their copper neck rings. A traditional Chinese medicine pharmacy explains the uses of herbs and plants, then you continue to Chiang Mai with a stop to walk through the underground galleries at Chiang Dao.

Chiang Mai

Small streets with traditional houses appear next, followed by a rickshaw tour and time at Warorot market. Doi Suthep hill and the Night Market round out your evening.

After breakfast, you'll see how paper gets made from elephant dung at the Elephant Poopoo Paper Park's eight pavilions and try making it yourself. A two-hour Mae Ping River boat cruise shows you traditional teak houses and rural scenery in the afternoon. Later, you'll board an overnight second-class train to Bangkok.

You'll arrive in Bangkok around 7 to 8 am and transfer to the airport for a noon flight to Trat. After landing, you'll catch the ferry to Koh Chang island, where steep jungle peaks and sandy bays create a remote feel with an energetic vibe. The rest of the day is free for beach time and settling into your resort.

Another full day at your leisure on Koh Chang. Use this time to swim, walk the beaches, try water activities, or simply unwind.
- Day 14
Koh Chang Island Departure
You'll get picked up in the morning and transfer to the ferry back to Trat airport, bringing your service to an end.
