    Budapest

    You'll arrive in Budapest and board the AmaMagna for the start of your river journey. This evening there's a Welcome Dinner where you'll meet the other travelers on the cruise.

  2. Day 2

    Budapest

    Budapest has several options depending on what appeals to you. The Great Market Hall is vibrant and worth seeing, and you can walk through both the Buda and Pest sides of the river. Christmas Markets are set up around the city if you want to browse. If you prefer hiking, Castle Hill and Fishermen's Bastion offer nice views. Another option is a Danube Bend cruise that takes you past the Börzsöny and Visegrád hills, stopping in places like Esztergom, Visegrád, and Szentendre, all historic settlements with their own character.

    Bratislava

    Bratislava was once the Coronation City of Kings, and a walking tour will show you that history throughout the old town. There's a Christmas Market to check out, or you can join a 'Tastes of Slovakia' tour if food interests you more. If you want to be more active, hiking up to Bratislava Castle gives you solid views over the city.

    Vienna has plenty to see between the Opera House and Schönbrunn Palace, the former seat of the Habsburgs. The Maria Theresaplatz Christmas market and Schönbrunn's market with its sparkling tree are worth visiting. Later, 'Vienna by Night' Christmas Markets offer a different feel. Alternatively, a guided bike ride along the Danube works well if you prefer something more active.

    Wachau Valley

    Krems is your entry point to the Wachau Valley, a UNESCO site with real character. The Baroque village of Dürnstein is small but charming with cobblestone streets and the Baroque Stiftskirche. You can taste apricot liqueur and brandy if that appeals, or hike up to Dürnstein Fortress. After lunch, head to the 900-year-old Melk Abbey or take a bike tour through Spitz if you want to stay moving. The evening finishes with a wine tasting of Grüner Veltliner and Riesling.

You have options: take a full day to Salzburg for the UNESCO Old Town and Christmas Markets, or head to Český Krumlov with its Baroque and Renaissance architecture and castle. Staying in Linz, you can walk the old city center, check out the Mozart House, or bike the 'Cultural Mile' and along the Danube.

    Really enjoyed the cruise. The food was exceptional, the excursions fun and enlightening and the entire crew was exceptional, fun, and professional. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 95 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
