Athens
An archaeologist guide takes you through ancient Athens, starting with the Acropolis and the white marble Parthenon built for Athena. You'll walk around the ancient Agora, the center where Athenians once gathered, then head to the Shedia Home cafe (supported by G Adventures) for drinks and lunch.

Athens to Kalambaka
The day begins with a drive from Athens toward Kalambaka, stopping at Thermopylae to see the bronze statue of King Leonidas. Later in the afternoon, you'll join a truffle hunter and his dogs in the forest to learn how truffles are found, try mushrooms under old trees with wine, then have an early dinner of pasta made with fresh truffles.

Kalambaka to Delphi
You'll spend your morning at the Meteora monasteries perched on 1,200-foot sandstone cliffs, seeing the ancient frescoes and countryside views (on clear days, you can see Mount Olympus). In the afternoon, you'll travel to Delphi to visit the Temple of Apollo, where the ancient oracle once gave prophecies.

- Day 5
Delphi to Olympia
Starting in Delphi, a guide will take you through the UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Archaeological Museum. Then you'll drive along the Gulf of Corinth and cross the Rio-Antirrio Bridge into the Peloponnese. Once you reach Olympia, there's an orientation walk and free time for dinner on your own.

Olympia to Nafplio
At the archaeological site of Olympia, you'll see the Temples of Zeus and Hera and the ancient stadium where the Olympic Games started in 776 BC. After that, you'll head to Nafplio for a local guided walk through the old town, checking out Bourtzi Castle and Palamidi Fortress while tasting local food, ending with gelato from one of Greece's most popular shops.

Nafplio to Mycenae
You have the morning free to explore on your own before heading to Mycenae, the Bronze Age city where King Agamemnon once ruled. A guide will take you through this UNESCO site and you'll pass through the famous Lion Gate, one of Europe's oldest monumental sculptures. By evening, you'll be at a regional winery for wine tasting with cheese and mezze plates for dinner.

Mycenae to Athens
You'll stop at Epidaurus to see the Aesklipion, the first recorded hospital, and the ancient theatre built there that focused on mental healing. From there, you'll drive north across the Isthmus of Corinth and pass through the famed Corinth Canal as you return to Athens. An optional farewell dinner is available if you want to join.

This day is completely yours in Athens. You can check out the well-preserved Panathenaic Stadium, walk through Hadrian's Library, or spend time in the National Gardens if those interest you.

Athens to Mykonos
You'll take a ferry to Mykonos and have the afternoon to relax at the pool. Later, your tour leader will walk you around town to see the iconic windmills, the Church of Panagia Paraportiani, and the charming streets of Little Venice.

Mykonos to Delos
An archaeologist guide takes you on an excursion to Delos, an uninhabited open-air museum with history going back to early Ionian times. You'll walk the Sacred Harbor and Sacred Way, where stone lions lead to temples for Apollo and Artemis. After seeing the museum artifacts, you'll return to Mykonos for a free afternoon.

Mykonos to Naxos
You'll ferry to Naxos, the largest Cycladic island. There's a cooking class where you'll learn to prepare Naxian Rosto, a slow-cooked pork dish with garlic and local graviera cheese. Then you walk the old town starting at the marble Portara gateway from the 6th century BC Temple of Apollo, exploring medieval fortresses and the 11th-century Cathedral.

Naxos
Today you'll see Naxos's rural side with a local guide, walking between villages and meeting people. You'll taste traditional food, visit the Kouroi archaeological landmark, see the watermills at Myloi, try Kytro liquor at Chalki, and sample olives in Kaloxylos. There's also a stop at the Naxos Wildlife Protection organization before you have free time.

Naxos to Santorini
A ferry takes you to Santorini. A local guide shows you the Akrotiri Museum and Bronze Age ruins preserved in volcanic ash from the eruption around the 16th century BC. Later, you'll have free time or can join your tour leader for a caldera trail walk to see the Three Bells of Santorini and views of the volcano.

Santorini is yours to enjoy. You can relax on beaches, check out the landscape and local culture, or join an optional sailing trip to local beaches and volcanic islands. This evening there's an optional farewell dinner in Oia if you want to celebrate with the group while watching the famous sunset.
