You'll arrive in Rio de Janeiro and get settled into your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore the city at your own pace, whether that's walking around nearby neighborhoods, grabbing lunch at a local spot, or just taking it easy after your travels.
- Day 2
Rio de Janeiro
After some free time this morning, you'll meet your tour director at 3:30pm for a drive past Ipanema and Copacabana beaches. From there, you're heading to Sugarloaf Mountain where a cable car takes you up 1,300 feet for city views. Later, you'll have caipirinhas at a cocktail party overlooking Guanabara Bay and the Atlantic Ocean to kick off the trip.

Rio de Janeiro
The day starts with a trip to Christ the Redeemer, the iconic statue sitting 2,300 feet up on Corcovado Mountain. A cog railway gets you to the top for 360-degree views of Rio. Then you'll head downtown to see the Sambodromo and Cathedral, with some free time in the afternoon to do your own thing. For dinner, you're having churrascaria with traditional Brazilian barbecued meats.

- Day 5
Rio de Janeiro to Iguassu Falls
You'll fly from Rio to Iguassu Falls today and head into Brazil's Iguassu National Park with a local guide. From the Brazilian side, you'll see the massive panorama of waterfalls stretching about 2 miles wide with cataracts reaching up to 250 feet tall. The whole area is surrounded by tropical vegetation and rainforest.

Iguassu Falls (Argentine side)
After crossing the border by motorcoach to the Argentine side of Iguassu Falls, you'll take an ecological jungle train for a closer look at things. Walking along pathways and catwalks, you'll get views right from above the falls and then head down to the lower trails to see smaller cataracts up close. The rest of the day is free back at your hotel.

Iguassu Falls to Buenos Aires
You're crossing into Argentina by motorcoach and heading to Cataratas del Iguazu International Airport for a flight to Buenos Aires. Once you arrive, your tour director will take you on a walking tour through this city with its wide boulevards and outdoor cafes.

Buenos Aires
Sightseeing starts in La Boca, the historic district where the city's first port was located. Then you'll move to San Telmo with its colonial buildings and artist spots. You'll see Plaza de Mayo and the pink Government House, plus the Metropolitan Cathedral and Teatro Colon opera house. At Recoleta Cemetery, you'll learn about Eva Peron's burial site. A hands-on cooking class teaches you how to make empanadas. Later, you'll have tango lessons at a local milonga followed by dinner with Argentine steaks and a tango show.

You're heading into the pampas to spend the day at a working Argentine ranch, or estancia. After a traditional welcome with empanadas and local drinks, you'll ride in a carriage through the grasslands to learn about gaucho culture. An authentic lunch featuring Argentine beef comes with salad, desserts, and live music and dancing by the gauchos. The day finishes with a gaucho horseback demonstration.

Bariloche to Puerto Varas (Andes Lake Crossing)
Today you're doing an Andes Lake Crossing from Argentina into Chile. You'll board a boat for a cruise across Lago Nahuel Huapi to Puerto Blest, then continue by motorcoach through emerald lakes and thick pine forests with snow-capped Andes peaks around you. Look for Osorno Volcano as you cross Lago Todos los Santos by catamaran, and then head to Puerto Varas with its tree-lined streets.

You're flying to Cusco and spending the day in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You'll visit Sacsayhuaman, a fortress made of gigantic stones with some blocks over 350 tons. Then you'll see the Kenko Amphitheater and Puca Pucara before getting to Pisaq, a mountain village with one of the best Indian markets in the region. You'll stay in the Sacred Valley tonight.

Starting with the Inca Fortress of Ollantaytambo, you'll visit a local home to meet families and see how they live. Then you're boarding the Vistadome train for a scenic journey through the Urubamba Valley. When you arrive, you'll climb the mountainside to Machu Picchu. Your local guide will introduce you to this intact fortress with its temples, holy houses, and mile-long aqueduct. Tonight, you'll learn to make a perfect Pisco Sour at a cooking demonstration before dinner.

The Temple of the Sun at Koricancha was the most important Inca site dedicated to sun worship, with walls once covered in gold before Spanish looting. You'll browse San Pedro Market for shopping and have afternoon leisure time. Your tour director hosts a festive farewell dinner at a local restaurant tonight.
