Itinerary
- Day 1
Cape Town to Cape Agulhas
Start by leaving Cape Town early and driving down to Cape Agulhas, the southernmost point of Africa. Once you arrive, head straight to the historic lighthouse where you can climb up to the top for views across the coast where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans actually meet. Spend the late afternoon walking around the area, then settle in on the beach as the sun sets and chat with other travelers before heading back.

Garden Route Safari & Wilderness
Get up early to board an open jeep for a safari through the Garden Route looking for wildlife like antelope, birds, and if you're lucky, some of Africa's larger animals. After the drive, head to the small town of Wilderness where you'll have a quiet afternoon to rest and explore at your own pace. By evening, gather for a traditional South African braai, which is basically a barbecue where you'll grill meat and enjoy local sides together.

Wilderness to Storms River
This morning starts with a canoe trip down the Touw River in Wilderness National Park, paddling through quiet water and forest. After the paddle, you'll hike to a waterfall where there are rock pools to cool off in. Later you'll drive to Bloukrans Bridge to see where people do the world's highest commercial bungy jump if that interests you. The day finishes by walking the coastal trail through Tsitsikamma National Park and crossing the hanging bridge at Storms River Mouth to take in the views from up high.

Jeffreys Bay
Arrive in Jeffreys Bay, a major surfing town in the Eastern Cape known for its right-hand waves and surf culture. Spend the day checking out the beaches, walking around the town to see local shops and galleries, and taking in the coastline where you might spot dolphins. Your accommodation sits right near the beach so you can wake up to ocean views and head straight out whenever you want.

Landmarks Jeffreys Bay - Day 5
Jeffreys Bay to Oudtshoorn
Leave the coast this morning and drive inland through the Outeniqua Mountain Pass heading toward Oudtshoorn, which is the ostrich farming center of South Africa. Once there, spend time inside the Cango Caves where you'll see enormous limestone formations and chambers underground. In the afternoon, visit a working ostrich farm to see how they raise and care for the birds, and from there you get good views of both the Swartberg and Outeniqua Mountain ranges framing the area.

Oudtshoorn to Cape Town via Route 62
Drive back to Cape Town today along Route 62, the country's longest wine route, passing through vineyards and small mountain towns as you go. Stop at a local vineyard for wine tastings and grab lunch there, sitting among the vines. This last drive gives you a chance to reflect on the week and enjoy the scenic route before heading back to the city.
