Itinerary
- Day 1
Tokyo to Hakone
Start by heading to the Hakone Open-Air Museum where you'll find plenty of sculptures and art installations spread across the grounds. After walking through the museum, make your way to Gora Park to see the seasonal flowers and fountains there. In the afternoon, take the Hakone Ropeway up for views over Owakudani volcanic valley, which sits active in the distance. The ropeway ride gives you a sense of the area's volcanic landscape before you head down to your lakeside hotel for the evening.

Hakone
This morning you'll board a sightseeing cruise on Lake Ashi, where forested hills rise up around the water. During the cruise, you'll see the Hakone Shrine with its red torii gate at the water's edge. After the boat ride, you have time to explore the lakeside town of Motohakone and grab lunch at one of the local spots before heading back.
