Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Reykjavik
You'll land at Keflavik airport and catch the Flybus shuttle to your hotel in Reykjavik. If your flight gets in early, you'll have some time to wander around Iceland's capital and get a feel for the city before settling in for the night.

- Day 2
Reykjavik to Akureyri
Meet your guide at 09:00 and head west through Borgarnes. You'll hike up Grábók volcano crater to see the green lava fields stretching out below, then check out Glaumbaer turf house farm and its folk museum. The route continues north through fjords and mountain passes, eventually bringing you to Akureyri, North Iceland's main city. You'll have the evening to explore on your own.

- Day 3
Akureyri to Myvatn
Start by taking in the views over Eyjafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur fjord from Akureyri. Next, you'll see G\u00f3\u00f0afoss waterfall, then move into Lake M\u00fdvatn's geothermal region where you can walk through lava formations at K\u00e1lafstr\u00f6nd and check out the pseudo craters at Sk\u00fatusta\u00f0ir. Later you'll head to Hverfjall tephra cone, then relax in the M\u00fdvatn Nature Baths. By evening, you'll be hunting for the Northern Lights.

Myvatn to East Iceland
You'll walk through Dimmuborgir's twisted lava formations and dark rock structures where the local folklore places trolls. During the afternoon, the route takes you through N\u00e1maskar\u00f0 with its bubbling mud pools and steaming hot springs. Then you'll cross through the uninhabited highlands, a stark landscape that looks like another planet, heading toward East Iceland.

East Iceland to Jökulsárlón
You'll see the dramatic East Fjords and small fishing villages, and stop at a fascinating stone and mineral collection along the way. In the afternoon, Vatnaj\u00f6kull, Europe's largest glacier, comes into view before you arrive at J\u00f6kuls\u00e1rl\u00f3n glacial lagoon with its floating icebergs. You can explore the site and look for seals in the icy water. A boat tour between the icebergs is included if you're traveling May through October.

Landmarks Vatnajökull Jökulsárlón - Day 6
Jökulsárlón to South Coast
You'll travel along Vatnaj\u00f6kull's southern edge and see Iceland's highest mountains and vast alpine landscapes from Europe's second-largest national park. The drive takes you through the Eldhraun lava field and the south coast's sandy deserts with their cliffs, glaciers, and waterfalls framing the landscape. You'll experience real lava being melted at the Icelandic Lava Show, walk the black sand beach at Reynisfjara, and see both Sk\u00f3gafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls. Watch for Northern Lights later if you're visiting September to mid-April.

Golden Circle Route
Your day follows the Golden Circle route starting at Fri\u00f0heimar farm where you'll learn about Icelandic horses and tour a geothermal greenhouse. You'll see the Geysir geothermal fields and watch Strokkur erupt every 5 to 7 minutes, then visit Gullfoss waterfall plunging 32 meters. After that comes Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You'll head back to Reykjavik for a short city tour, and optional Northern Lights tours are available that evening if conditions look good.
