Freetown
You'll arrive in Freetown and get transferred to your hotel, which sits near Lumley Beach. After checking in and settling your things, spend the late afternoon watching the sunset from the beach. Later, head out for dinner and try some fresh seafood at a local restaurant.

Freetown to Tacugama
This morning you'll drive out to Tacugama Sanctuary to see their chimpanzee conservation work. A guide will take you on a forest hike through the reserve, and you'll learn about the rehabilitation programs they run for rescued chimps. The whole experience gives you a real sense of the conservation efforts happening here.

Gola Forest and Tiwai Island
You're heading to Gola Forest and Tiwai Island today. After arriving by boat, you'll get settled into the eco-camp and have time to rest. Later in the evening, take a night canoe trip where you can search for hippos and spot fireflies lighting up the water.

Tiwai Island
Spend the day doing wildlife tracking in the rainforest with your guide looking for different species. In the afternoon, travel to a nearby Mende village for a cultural visit. By evening, you'll participate in drumming and listen to storytelling from local residents.

Tiwai Island to Bo
You'll travel to Bo, Sierra Leone's second-largest city. Walk through the lively markets and meet local artisans including weavers and blacksmiths working on their crafts. For dinner, you'll have a traditional home-cooked meal prepared by a local family.
