Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Beijing
You'll arrive in Beijing and connect with your private guide at the airport. They'll take care of your luggage and drive you to your hotel for check-in. This gives you time to settle in and rest after your flight.
- Day 2
Beijing
Start your Beijing exploration at Tian'anmen Square in the morning, then move into the Forbidden City with your guide providing context on the imperial history. By mid-afternoon, head to Jingshan Park for views across the city, and after that walk through the narrow Hutong alleys to see how locals live. Later you'll try Beijing Opera Facial Makeup artistry before heading to Quanjude restaurant for Peking Roasted Duck dinner.

Travel to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall where you'll climb the ancient stone steps and check out the watchtowers with views over the surrounding landscape. After descending, head to the Temple of Heaven in the afternoon. You'll join a tai chi session with instructors there, which is a great way to experience how locals use the temple grounds.

Beijing
Your driver picks you up early in the morning for the drive to Universal Studios Beijing Theme Park. You'll spend the day exploring the park at your own pace, and the driver will collect you afterward to return you to your hotel by evening.

Beijing to Xi'an
This morning walk through the Summer Palace, taking time to see the Long Corridor with its detailed painted decorations and walk along Kunming Lake. Climb up to the Tower of Buddhist Incense for panoramic city views. Next, visit the Yonghe Temple (Lama Temple) and explore its grounds. After some free time for lunch, head to the high-speed train station for your 4.5-hour journey to Xi'an. Your guide meets you at Xi'an station for the transfer to your hotel.

Xi'an
Ride a bicycle along Xi'an's ancient city wall early in the day, getting a feel for this defensive structure as you pedal around it. Then travel to see the Terracotta Army, where you'll walk through the pits containing thousands of life-sized warriors and horses. Later in the afternoon, you'll get to make your own miniature terracotta warrior in an authentic cave dwelling setting.

Xi'an to Guilin
Start at the Xi'an Museum to see ancient artifacts from various dynasties. Then visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, an important Buddhist site in the city. In the afternoon, you'll watch a Shadow Play performance and join a Paper Cutting workshop at Gaojia Courtyard to learn this traditional craft. After some free time, fly to Guilin where your guide meets you for hotel check-in.

Guilin to Yangshuo
Your guide picks you up at 8:20 and drives you to Zhujiang pier. Board a boat around 9:00 for roughly 5 hours cruising the Li River to Yangshuo, passing karst peaks, water buffalo, rice paddies, and bamboo rafts with local boatmen. You'll arrive in Yangshuo by early afternoon and explore West Street and the town. Your hotel drop-off is around 4 pm.

Shanghai
Start at the Ming Dynasty Yu Garden with its intricate rockeries and small pavilions. From there, check out the Old City and City God Temple in the busy market area, then walk through authentic Shanghai Longtang lane houses. Spend time on Nanjing Road Walking Street, a 1.5km stretch with both modern shops and traditional stores. Next, visit Zhang Garden for its history, then explore Xintiandi's upscale boutiques and restaurants. After that, wander through Tianzifang's narrow alleyways filled with art studios and shops. By evening, grab coffee at Manner Coffee on the North Bund (you pay separately) and enjoy views of the Huangpu River.
