Arrival
An Insight host picks you up at the airport and takes you to your hotel. After you've had time to settle in and relax, you'll meet your Travel Director and the rest of the group for dinner together this evening.

Thermopylae - Kalambaka
You have a choice for exploring Athens: go to ancient sites with a Local Expert or wander around the Plaka neighbourhood with your Travel Director. After that, you'll head south to Thermopylae to visit the memorial for King Leonidas and his Spartan warriors. From there it's on to Kalambaka for dinner.

- Day 3
Meteora
Your Local Expert takes you through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Meteora to see the massive rock formations and one of the centuries-old monasteries. You'll get great views over the Peneios Valley. The rest of your day is free, so you can walk nature trails or check out the Natural History Museum if you're interested.

Delphi - Olympia
You travel south toward Mount Parnassus and walk the Sacred Way of Delphi with your Local Expert, passing the Treasury of the Athenians and the Polygonal Wall before reaching the Temple of Apollo. Later you'll continue to Olympia, where dinner is waiting at your hotel.

Olympia
Spend the day exploring Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games back in 776 B.C. You'll see the Temple of Zeus ruins, the athletes gymnasium, and the Ancient Stadium with its characteristic arch. Don't miss getting a photo at the starting line. In the evening, a local chef shows you how to prepare classic Greek dishes.

Mycenae - Nafplio - Athens
You'll walk through the ruined city of Mycenae, going past the Lion Gate to see the royal beehive-tombs and Cyclopean stones. Then you meet master weaver Maria Gonidou and her daughter Nefeli to learn traditional Greek weaving techniques. After that it's to the elegant town of Nafplio, then along the Saronic Gulf past the Corinth Canal back to Athens for a hearty Greek-style dinner.

Cruise Embarkation - Thessaloniki
The morning is yours to do what you like. Later in the afternoon, you board your cruise ship and head for Thessaloniki. While sailing, you can enjoy Mediterranean cuisine from around the world.

This afternoon you explore the Turkish port of Kusadasi and the ancient ruins of Ephesus with a Local Expert. That evening the ship sails on toward Crete.

Early on Crete, Greece's largest island, you take a tour to the capital city of Heraklion and visit King Minos' Palace at Knossos to learn about Europe's first advanced civilization. Later your cruise continues to Santorini.
