Itinerary
- Day 1
Punta Arenas
You'll arrive in Punta Arenas and meet your expedition representative for a hotel transfer. Head to the hospitality desk between 2 and 6 pm to pick up your luggage cabin tags, then make sure you're at the 7 pm voyage briefing. This is where you'll meet the other expeditioners and get briefed on Antarctic procedures, so it's important to be on time.

Landmarks Straits of Magellan - Day 2
Punta Arenas to King George Island
An early morning transfer gets you to Punta Arenas airport for the charter flight to King George Island, which takes about an hour and a half. Once you arrive, you'll board the MV Greg Mortimer and settle into your cabin. Later this evening, there's a welcome dinner where you can meet fellow travelers and the expedition team.

Landmarks King George Island South Shetland Islands - Day 3
Antarctica
This is your first day in Antarctica. You'll spot your first iceberg as the ship crosses into these waters, and you'll get that first real sense of being in one of the world's most remote environments. The crisp air and the landscape around you will feel completely different from anywhere else.

Antarctic Peninsula
The ship starts exploring the western side of the Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetland Islands. With 18 to 24 hours of daylight, you can fill your days with activities as much as you want. The long daylight hours mean there's a lot of time to get out and see things.

Antarctic Exploration
Your expedition team looks at the weather, ice conditions, and where wildlife is being spotted to plan each day's activities. The itinerary stays flexible so you get the best opportunities depending on what conditions are like.

Zodiac Cruises and Landings
You'll do twice-daily landings and Zodiac excursions throughout these days. Cruise along ice cliffs and between grounded icebergs, watch for whales and seals, visit penguin rookeries, and see historic huts. The expedition team takes you to their favorite spots along the peninsula.

Antarctic Exploration
Walk across pebbly beaches and up snow-covered ridgelines with mountain views and ice-filled oceans in the distance. If conditions allow, you have the option to swim in the polar waters. The terrain changes throughout these days, and each landing offers something different.

You'll have Zodiac cruises and shore excursions. The ship might navigate through narrow straits between offshore islands and the mainland, or stay in scenic bays to watch whales as they travel or feed. Each day brings different opportunities depending on where the wildlife is.

Antarctic Reflection
Spend time in the observation lounge or up on the bridge for unobstructed views of Antarctica. You'll hear glaciers creaking and rumbling as they carve their way down to the sea. Take a moment to just sit with what you're seeing and experience the quiet, white landscape.

South Shetland Islands to Drake Passage
A final morning landing happens in the South Shetland Islands before the ship heads back through the Drake Passage. During the return voyage, there are lectures and film presentations that wrap up the Antarctic experience. You'll have time to think back on everything and discuss what you've seen.

Landmarks South Shetland Islands Drake Passage - Day 11
Drake Passage to Cape Horn
As the ship gets closer to South America, the Captain will try to sail near Cape Horn if weather and timing cooperate. This legendary point marks the transition out of Antarctic waters and is a significant moment in your journey.

Landmarks Cape Horn - Day 12
Ushuaia
Early morning the ship cruises up the Beagle Channel, and you'll disembark in Ushuaia around 8 am. You'll say goodbye to the expedition team and your fellow passengers. If your flight is before 12:30 pm, you'll head straight to the airport. Those with later flights have time to walk around Ushuaia before an afternoon transfer.
