- Day 1
Lyon
You'll arrive at the airport and get picked up for a transfer to your Emerald Cruises Star-Ship. Make sure you're there before 4:30 PM so everything runs smoothly. This gives you time to settle in and get familiar with the ship before departure.

Lyon
Lyon is where you'll spend the day exploring France's third-largest city and its reputation as a food capital. You can join a guided tour that takes you through the UNESCO-listed Basilica Notre-Dame de Fourvière and the historic cobblestone streets in the old town. If you prefer something different, there's a guided bike tour available that covers the main highlights from two wheels instead.

Vienne
The ship heads south to Vienne, a town with serious Roman and medieval history. You'll get a walking tour that covers both periods, so you'll see monuments and remnants from each era. It's a smaller stop than Lyon but worth the time to wander through this part of the Rhone-Alpes region.

Tournon
Tournon is next, a village that's dominated by a 16th century castle looking out over the Rhône. You can take a guided tour to learn about the village's cultural heritage, or if you're up for it, there's a hike through the local vineyards where they grow the grapes for the region's wines.

Viviers
Viviers is a medieval town with real character and it's home to one of France's oldest cathedrals. The guided walking tour points out the city's many monuments, ornate windows, and decorative façades. It's a quieter stop but worth exploring if you like historical details.

- Day 6
Avignon
You'll arrive in Avignon, which was once home to seven Popes in a row. The guided walking tour covers the UNESCO-listed Palais des Papes and Pont d'Avignon, both major sights. Later that evening there's a Provençal dinner prepared by Top Chef finalist Fabien Morreale, and then a classical concert wraps up the night.

Arles
Arles is a former Phoenician trading port with significant Roman landmarks throughout. The guided tour shows off the UNESCO-listed Roman and Romanesque monuments around the city. You have the option to visit a local olive farm and learn why olive production matters so much in southern France, then spend the afternoon on your own to walk around and get a feel for the place.

Lyon to Nice
After breakfast you'll leave the ship and head to Nice for a three-night stay. You're transferred there from the port and check into a centrally located hotel on the Côte d'Azur. This puts you right in the middle of everything, so you can easily get around the city.

- Day 9
Nice to Monaco and Monte Carlo
A guided tour takes you along the French Riviera coast to Monaco and Monte Carlo, those places you've seen in films like Never Say Never Again and To Catch a Thief. You'll see the Prince's Palace of Monaco, which started as a Genoese fortress and later became home to Grace Kelly. The afternoon is free for you to explore on your own and get a feel for the area.

Nice
Nice is yours to spend however you want today. The beaches and upscale surroundings give you plenty of options, and your tour director is around if you need help planning what to do. You could head to the beach, wander the promenade, or just take your time checking out the city's neighborhoods.

Nice (Departure)
After breakfast you'll say goodbye to the other travelers and get ready for your transfer to the airport. From there you'll head home or continue on to your next destination.
