This morning you'll walk through Ljubljana's pedestrian city center, taking in the pastel buildings and nice architecture. Since cars don't fill these streets, you can enjoy the charming scenes at a relaxed pace, finding quiet corners and local spots throughout the little capital.

Lake Bled
You'll head out for a day trip to Lake Bled, where forest-covered mountains surround the water. Bled Castle sits high on the cliffs above, and you'll get to see the distinctive blue lake with the island church in its center. It's a popular spot, but the natural setting makes it worth the visit.

Postojna Caves to Venice
On your way to Venice, you'll stop at Postojna Caves to walk through the underground landscape filled with stalactites and stalagmites. After that, you'll continue toward Venice and board the S.S. La Venezia for the start of your river cruise journey.

Venice
You'll arrive early at Doge's Palace to see it before the crowds arrive, then wander through the quieter neighborhoods to get a feel for how locals actually live in Venice. Later in the evening, you'll have a private after-hours lighting ceremony at St. Mark's Basilica without the typical tourist masses.

Vicenza or Padua, Mazzorbo, and Burano
Your morning takes you to either Vicenza or Padua, both UNESCO World Heritage cities with their own histories to explore. In the afternoon, you'll reboard the ship and sail across the lagoon toward Mazzorbo and Burano. After you dock, you'll have time to walk around the island town in the evening when most visitors have already left, seeing the brightly painted cottages in hot pink, chartreuse, orange, and lemon yellow.
