Porto to Pinhão
The ship cruises through Douro Valley toward Pinhão, and you'll see terraced vineyards and traditional quintas along the steep banks. Once you dock in Pinhão, check out the riverside train station with its hand-painted azulejo tiles, or try painting your own tiles at a local workshop.

Pinhão to Barca d'Alva
Head to Provesende this morning, a village on a plateau with views across the landscape. You'll walk through the streets, visit the church, find the old bakery, watch local craftspeople at work, and tour the historic Morgadio da Calçada manor house for a tasting of local bola.

Barca d'Alva to Pocinho
Today you choose between two options. Either explore Salamanca and see its famous university and two cathedrals, check out a local market, and have free time for lunch. Or head to Freixo de Espada à Cinta to learn about handcrafted silk production at the silk museum and taste regional products at a Quinta estate.

Pocinho to Régua
Starting in Pocinho at the historic 1887 railway terminus, you can visit the Côa Valley Museum with its Paleolithic rock art and pre-historic workshop, or explore the Côa Valley villages and Casa Painova estate to learn about traditional sugared almond production. Later the ship cruises to Régua, the main riverside town and gateway to the Port wine region.

Régua to Porto
In Régua you'll pick a morning activity: visit Lamego with its Baroque architecture and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies featuring a blue and white zigzagged staircase, kayak on the Pinhão River, or tour Mateus Palace, one of Portugal's finest Baroque estates. This afternoon you cruise back to Porto for a classical concert at São Francisco Church.

Another option is Quinta da Aveleda, a 150-year-old winery where you can tour, taste wines, and walk through the gardens.
