Nice
You'll get transferred from the airport to your hotel in Nice, right in the heart of the city on the French Riviera. You're settling in for three nights here, so take time to get oriented and relax after your journey.

Today you're heading to Monaco and Monte Carlo with a guided tour through this glamorous area. You'll see the famous Grand Prix track and get a feel for the jet-set lifestyle this place is known for.

Nice
This is your chance to explore Nice on your own terms. The waterfront is there whenever you want it, or you can wander the old town streets. Your tour director is around if you need suggestions for what to do.

Nice to Arles
After breakfast, you're transferred to Arles where you'll board the Emerald Cruises Star-Ship. The captain and crew welcome you on board, and later this evening there's a welcome dinner to kick things off.

- Day 5
Arles
You'll see Arles' Roman amphitheatre, which is about 2,000 years old, along with other UNESCO sites in the city. Later you'll learn about Van Gogh's connection to the place and what inspired 'Starry Night Over the Rhône', then you have free time to walk around.

Macon

Lyon

- Day 11
Lyon to Porto
After breakfast, you're transferred from Lyon to Porto where the Emerald Radiance Star-Ship is waiting. You'll meet the staff on board and get ready for the second part of your trip along the river.

Douro Valley
You're sailing through the Douro Valley, which is UNESCO-listed and has been producing wine for two thousand years. The landscape is covered in terraced vineyards and small villages. Tonight brings a welcome dinner and cocktail reception on board.

- Day 13
Pinh\u00e3o to Vega de Terr\u00f3n
You can visit Quinta do Tedo, an 18th-century vineyard that grows grapes organically using traditional methods. Or you might prefer a guided walk through the vineyards or a kayak trip on the river. The afternoon has you sailing to Vega de Terrón with time to relax on deck.

Salamanca
Salamanca's old quarter dates back to Roman times and shows influences from Carthaginians, Romans, and Moors. Your walking tour covers the Plaza Mayor with its elegant galleries, the Casa de las Conchas with over 300 shells decorating it, and the university from 1218.

Pocinho to R\u00e9gua
You're docking at Pocinho and heading to the medieval town of Castelo Rodrigo to explore its fortress and try local products. Back on the ship for lunch, then you'll have a Port wine cocktail lesson on board while sailing toward Régua.

Lamego
The village of Lamego has Baroque architecture and overlooks a shrine called Our Lady of Remedies. If you're up for it, you can walk down 686 steps from the Sanctuary to reach the main square. Later there's a rural lunch at a quinta and a chance to learn about Portuguese mosaic painting.

Porto
Porto sits at the mouth of the Douro River and mixes modern and old architecture together. You'll see two fortified castles, Castelo da Foz and Castelo do Queijo, which overlook the ocean. The guided tour covers the medieval harbor, or you can do an active walk through the local neighborhood instead.

Porto to Lisbon
You're leaving the ship and heading south along the coast to Nazaré, where you'll see traditional fishing culture and fresh seafood. From there you continue to Óbidos, a small medieval town with real charm, before reaching Lisbon for a three-night stay.

Lisbon
You're exploring central Lisbon with its yellow trams rolling down tree-lined streets. You'll check out the Belém district and see the Jerónimos Monastery, a UNESCO site with late Gothic Manueline architecture that's quite striking.
