Wellington
You'll arrive in Wellington and get settled into your hotel. After checking in, you'll meet your tour guide and the other travelers on the trip for an orientation session. Dinner is included at a local Wellington restaurant that specializes in New Zealand cuisine.

Marlborough Sounds
An early start gets you to the Interislander ferry terminal. You'll board the ferry crossing Cook Strait and have access to the Premium Lounge with breakfast and a complimentary bar. By midday you're in Picton, where you'll board the Mailboat Cruise through the Marlborough Sounds. A packed lunch comes with the cruise, and you'll arrive at Portage Resort in time for a three-course dinner.

Picton
Start at Portage Resort with breakfast overlooking Kenepuru Sound. Then you'll head out on Beachcomber Cruises for the Paua Pearl Farm Tour, which includes morning tea and tastings. Later, drive back to Picton for an afternoon wine tour with Sounds Connection, featuring lunch at Allan Scott Wines Bistro with wine included. You'll visit two additional wineries and stop at Makana Boutique Chocolate Factory before checking into your Picton hotel. The evening is free to explore town and find dinner.

Picton to Kaikōura
Picton is yours to explore this morning at your own pace after breakfast at your hotel. By midday you'll board the Coastal Pacific train in Scenic Plus class, which offers light lunch and afternoon tea during the journey. You'll arrive in Kaikōura in the late afternoon and transfer to your hotel. Dinner is included at a local Kaikōura restaurant.

You're back by noon with a free afternoon to wander Kaikōura's streets and waterfront on your own (lunch is at your own cost). In the late afternoon, you'll board the Coastal Pacific train again in Scenic Plus class heading to Christchurch. Dinner and drinks are included during the journey, and you'll transfer to your accommodation after arriving at the station.

Breakfast comes first at your accommodation. Then you'll join a cultural food walking tour exploring Christchurch's history and local food scene with experienced guides. Your afternoon is free to do what interests you: check out Quake City Museum or Ravenscar Museum, take a punt along the Avon River, ride the trams, or head up the Gondola for views across Canterbury Plains and the Southern Alps. Later, the group gathers for dinner at a local Christchurch restaurant.
