Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Vágar to Tórshavn

You'll arrive at Vágur International Airport and pick up your rental vehicle for the drive to Tórshavn. After checking in at your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to explore the capital. Tinganes gives you a look at the historic parliament site surrounded by colorful wooden houses, while the Reyn district has its own charm worth wandering through. Skansin fort sits on your list too, so plan time for that. If you're feeling energetic and the weather cooperates, there's an option to take a boat out to Koltur island where the cliffs offer some great views across the water.

  2. Day 2

    Tórshavn to Klaksvik

After breakfast at your hotel, you'll drive to Klaksvik on the eastern island of Borooy. Christianskirkja is your first stop, one of Scandinavia's oldest churches with cast iron elements from over 3000 years ago. The rest of your time here focuses on the region's dramatic landscape. There are cliff walks and hiking trails throughout the area, and this part of the islands has some of the best trails if you want to get out on foot and experience the nature firsthand.

  3. Day 3

    Klaksvik to Eysturoy

You'll head to the island of Eysturoy after breakfast. Climb Slættaratindur at 880 meters, the highest point in the Faroe Islands, and you'll get views that span the whole archipelago from up there. From there, travel to Eidí and continue driving east toward the coast where Risin and Kellingin wait. These two rock formations have names from Icelandic legend, supposedly a giant and a witch turned to stone. If timing works out, the small village of Gjógv with its fewer than 50 residents is also nearby and worth a quick stop to see how people live in these remote settlements.

    Eysturoy to Vágar

After eating breakfast, you'll return to Streymoy island and Saksun village, which has a quiet, peaceful feel with a scenic lagoon nearby. A few old houses serve as a small museum if you want to step inside. Next comes the boat trip through Vestmanna cliffs, where you'll pass under 700-meter vertical rock faces and through coastal caves with rock pillars and arches rising around you. Watch for arctic terns, guillemots, fulmars, gulls, petrels, and puffins during the trip. Later you'll head to Vágar island to see Bøsdalafossur waterfall, a 35-meter drop right into the Atlantic from Lake Leitisvatn.

It was a unique and wonderful experience. Norway amazed me with its natural beauty, each place more beautiful than the last. I highly recommend it! Not only for the country, but also for V.O.S.'s professionalism; they went above and beyond to accommodate all my requests. The guide Stefano is very professional and has extensive knowledge of Norwegian history and the specifics of each place we visited. The driver Roald is a truly friendly person. Together, they made the trip incredibly enjoyable and informative! Congratulations!! ...... Tremendous experience for us. Cannot say enough about our guide, the bus driver, and the hotels. Bus was clean and comfortable. The driver extremely competent. Our guide was knowledgeable, well spoken, and thorough. He left nothing to chance and was very accessible for an array of questions. Hotels were well chosen.
