- Day 1
Osaka
You'll land at Kansai International Airport and make your way to Osaka from there. Since this is day one, you're mainly getting settled in and acclimating to the local time and surroundings before things officially kick off tomorrow. Use this time to check into your accommodation, grab a bite, and walk around your neighborhood a bit if jet lag isn't hitting too hard.

Landmarks Kansai International Airport (KIX) - Day 2
Kyoto and Nara
Start by heading to Fushimi Inari Shrine to walk through the thousands of red torii gates winding up the hillside. After that, make your way to Nara Park where you can interact with the deer roaming freely around the grounds. Then check out Todaiji Temple, which houses a massive bronze Buddha statue and is one of Japan's most important Buddhist sites. Before the day ends, visit Kasuga Taisha, a historic shrine that's been standing for over a thousand years.

- Day 3
Kanazawa via Bullet Train
Catch a bullet train from Kanazawa heading toward Tsuruga, which takes about 45 minutes. You'll change trains there and continue on to Kyoto for about 52 minutes (with roughly 5 to 10 minutes between trains). Before leaving Kanazawa, spend time walking through Kenrokuen Garden, one of Japan's finest landscaped gardens. Wander the Higashi Chaya District to see traditional wooden teahouses and geisha architecture. If you're adventurous, try the local specialty of gold leaf ice cream at one of the shops in the area.

- Day 4
Shirakawa-go, Takayama, and Omicho Market
Head out to Shirakawa-go, a UNESCO-listed village with distinctive gassho-zukuri farmhouses, some dating back over 250 years. The steep roofs were designed to handle heavy snow. Later, explore Takayama Jinya, a former government administrative building that now functions as a museum showing historical exhibits. Next to it sits a traditional rice storehouse worth checking out. Before wrapping up, browse Omicho Market back in Kanazawa, a bustling historic market with about 200 shops selling fresh seafood, local vegetables, and regional specialties.

- Day 5
Lake Kawaguchi and Transfer to Tokyo
Take a scenic boat ride on Lake Kawaguchi where you'll get clear views of Mount Fuji rising up from the landscape (weather permitting). Stop at Sengen Shrine located in Arashiyama Sengen Park, which is known for its views of Mount Fuji and has beautiful cherry blossoms during spring. After that, you'll transfer to Tokyo to wrap up your journey. By evening, you'll be settled in Tokyo with plenty of time to explore the city on your own.
