Itinerary
- Day 1
Marseille to Tarascon
You'll arrive in Marseille and transfer to Tarascon where the Scenic Space-Ship is waiting. Spend the afternoon getting familiar with your suite, then head up to the Sun Deck to take in the views across the city. This evening there's a welcome reception where you'll meet your fellow passengers.
- Day 2
Arles to Avignon
Start your morning in Arles, which has Roman roots going back to 56BC with ruins still visible throughout the city. You can choose a guided walk to see Roman monuments like the arena, visit an olive farm, check out the Medieval village of Les Baux, take a painting class inspired by Van Gogh, or join a workshop on Provence herbs and lavender oils. After lunch, the ship cruises toward Avignon while you relax with regional wine or beer in the Panorama Lounge.

Avignon
Avignon is next, and it's known as the City of the Popes. Your options include walking the historic Palais des Papes and city walls, heading out to see the ancient Roman Pont du Gard aqueduct, shopping at the market with the ship's chef followed by a cooking demonstration, or tasting wines in Châteauneuf du Pape. The afternoon is free for exploring Avignon on your own or climbing up to Le Rocher des Doms for views across the city.

Viviers to Vienne
You'll dock in Viviers, which functions like an open-air museum with Medieval heritage stretching back to the fifth century. Choose between a guided walk exploring the Cathedral of St. Vincent and local architecture, a French Resistance tour with stories from World War II, or an excursion to Medieval Grignan with its castle and Collegiate Church. The afternoon you'll be back on board as the ship heads toward Vienne.

Vienne
Vienne is a riverside town with 2,000 years of history and notable Roman structures including old theatres, temples, baths, and the Vienne Pyramid from the circus. You can walk through the well-preserved Roman theatre that once held over 10,000 spectators, or take a cycling tour to see the Roman temple, a monument to Emperor Augustus, and Ile Barlet River Island.

Mâcon
Mâcon sits on the river's edge with pastel buildings and old churches, and it's the perfect base for exploring South Burgundy's wine region. Pick from driving through Beaujolais to meet a local winemaker and taste their wines, visiting the Medieval town of Cluny with its historic Benedictine Abbey, touring Château de Cormatin from 1606 with its gilded rooms and gardens, or checking out an organic goat cheese farm where you'll learn about open-air farming and sample cheese with local wine.

Lyon
Lyon is France's food capital and the country's third largest city. Founded by Romans in 43BC where the Rhône and Saône rivers meet, it now has thousands of restaurants including 20 with Michelin stars. Check out the historic traboules (secret passageways from the fourth century) and the Basilica of Notre Dame of Fourvière, wander through the Medieval village of Pérouges on its hilltop, take a silk painting workshop to learn about Lyon's five-century textile tradition, or join a cycling tour to Tête d'or Park with its lake, gardens, and zoo. The ship stays docked overnight, so you have time to explore the city's food scene.
