Itinerary
- Day 1
Sibiu to Praid
Your travel assistant will meet you at Sibiu Airport to start things off. From there, you'll take a city tour through Sibiu to get oriented, then head to the village of Praid in the late afternoon. Before settling in for the night, you'll visit the famous salt mine, which gives you a real sense of the area's history and character. Dinner and your first night's stay wrap up the day.

Landmarks/POIs Praid Salt Mine - Day 2
Praid to Atia
After breakfast, you're hiking through Szeklerland with two challenging ascents to handle, one longer and one shorter but steeper. Pack extra water since you won't find any sources along the way. Later in the day, you'll hike down to the village of Atia to walk around and see the Hungarian village character. The day ends with dinner and an overnight stay.

Atia to Lupeni
Starting after breakfast, you have an easier, well-marked hike through small villages where you'll see charming houses and centuries-old Szekler gates. Your luggage gets transferred ahead to Lupeni, so you only carry daily supplies. The route mixes asphalt sections, uphill stretches, and forest paths as you make your way through the landscape. You'll arrive in Lupeni by late afternoon for dinner and your overnight stay.

Lupeni to Odorheiu Secuiesc
After breakfast, pack what you need for a moderately difficult hike through traditional Szekler villages and forests. The route is well-marked with minimal asphalt. Along the way, you'll come across the 'Heart of Jesus' statue where you can climb for some views, then pass through Dealu, which is known for its palinka festival. Continue hiking through hills and more villages as you work toward Odorheiu Secuiesc, arriving by evening for dinner and your stay.

Landmarks/POIs Heart of Jesus Statue - Day 5
Odorheiu Secuiesc to Martinești
Start the morning in Odorheiu Secuiesc town center, which is your chance to restock supplies, fix any gear issues, or get new hiking shoes if needed. Then you'll head out to hike the hills above town, passing through meadows and sheepfolds, dense forest, and traditional villages. Wild cherry trees line parts of the route as you make your way toward Martinesti, arriving in the afternoon for dinner and your overnight stay.

Martinești to Dârjiu
Following breakfast, pack provisions for a longer, moderately difficult hike where you'll notice the landscape shift at the border between Szekler and Saxon cultures. Your route takes you through fields, forests, gravel roads, and grass paths with little asphalt. You'll pass through several villages including Rares, Sanpaul, Daia, Iasu, and Ulies before reaching Darjiu, where you can see Saxon-influenced Szekler churches and houses.

- Day 7
Dârjiu to Sighișoara
After a relaxed breakfast, you'll visit the fortified church in Darjiu, a UNESCO World Heritage site that's worth the time. Then comes your final light hiking route through fields, forests, gravel roads, and grass paths to the village of Munja and on to Archita, where you'll see the fortified church and Saxon houses. An afternoon transfer takes you to Sighisoara. If you want, there's an optional guided city tour of the romantic citadel (also UNESCO listed) with its guild towers, churches, colorful houses, and cobblestone streets. You'll have free time to wander around before dinner and your overnight stay.
