Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Vienna to London

    You'll fly from Vienna to London and arrive for a panoramic tour of the city. From there, head to the Churchill War Rooms, the historic command center used by British armed forces during WWII. It's quite a significant site to see. After that, you'll travel to the Oxford area for the night.

  2. Day 2

    Oxford

    This morning, explore Oxford as an elite university city. You'll visit Christ Church, one of Oxford's 39 colleges that's produced prime ministers and writers like Lewis Carroll. Then tour the Bodleian Library, which is really impressive. Later, stroll through the university town along Beaumont Street and find the Eagle & Child Pub where authors J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis used to meet.

  3. Day 3

    Waddesdon Manor - Great Missenden

    Head into the English countryside to Bletchley Park, the former military headquarters where British cryptanalysts deciphered German communications during WWII, including the Enigma code. You'll also visit Waddesdon Manor and Little Missenden, filming locations for the crime series 'Midsomer Murders'. Then continue through Great Missenden, where author Roald Dahl lived.

  4. Day 4

    Bath

    You'll start in the village of Lacock and explore Lacock Abbey, a former 13th-century nunnery used for filming Harry Potter and Robin Hood. After that, continue to Bath, which has elegant Georgian architecture and thermal springs known to the Romans. Bath's also famous for its connection to Jane Austen, so there's a lot of history to see here.

    Greenway House

    Check out Dartmoor's open moorlands, the setting for Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's 'The Hound of the Baskervilles'. You'll visit Buckfast Abbey and learn about its influence on Sherlock Holmes stories. Later, head to Greenway House on the banks of the River Dart, where Agatha Christie spent summers and found inspiration for her crime novels.

  6. Day 6

    Land's End - Fowey - St. Buryan

    Start in the village of St. Ives with a walk along the beach promenade. Then drive to Land's End, the most westerly headland in Great Britain, where you'll see the Atlantic Ocean views. You'll stop in Fowey where author Daphne du Maurier settled, and briefly visit St. Buryan, home of spy thriller writer John Le Carré.

    Stonehenge - Salisbury - Swindon

    Drive to Tintagel on Cornwall's rugged coastline, famous in legend as King Arthur's residence. Next, you'll head to Stonehenge, the mysterious megalithic stone circle. After that, stroll through Salisbury to see its cathedral, built in early Gothic style starting in 1220. You'll end the day in Swindon.
