- Day 1
Departure to Cape Town
Your flight departs in the evening, heading to Cape Town. Get to the airport with plenty of time and settle in for the journey to South Africa's mother city.

Cape Town
You'll arrive in Cape Town and transfer to your hotel. After checking in, the afternoon is yours to relax or wander around the beach promenade and Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Later, there's a welcome drink on the hotel terrace where you can meet fellow travelers and get oriented.

Cape Town City Exploration
The day focuses on exploring Cape Town's character. You'll visit the South Africa Museum, then head to the Bo-Kaap Malay district with its colorful streets and local spice shops selling delicacies. Stop by a coffee roastery in Woodstock, and if weather cooperates, take the cable car up Table Mountain for views across Cape Town and Table Bay.

Cape Town
This one's yours to structure. Walk through St. Georges pedestrian zone and Greenmarket Square at your own pace. If you want something more ambitious, consider driving Chapman's Peak along the Atlantic Ocean to Hout Bay, passing through fishing villages to Cape Nature Reserve. From there, climb to the lighthouse on 200-meter cliffs or visit the penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

Cape Town
Another day to set your own schedule. The Zeitz MOCAA Museum holds contemporary African art and is worth checking out. Alternatively, head into the wine region and explore Paarl with its Afrikaans language monument, or visit historic Stellenbosch to see the Rhenish Mission church and museum. Wine tastings at surrounding estates are an option if that appeals to you.

Cape Town to Ohrigstad
Fly from Cape Town to Johannesburg, then transfer into Mpumalanga province. Your new guide will take over, driving through dramatic landscapes toward Ohrigstad. You'll pass through Ndebele tribal lands where the people wear colorful clothing and beaded hoops, and their homes feature distinctive geometric paintings. Stop to observe their artistry. After going through Belfast and Lydenburg, you'll arrive in Ohrigstad for a relaxed evening with an optional sundowner on the terrace.

Panorama Route to Hazyview
Today covers the Panorama Route, a drive through landscapes with towering mountains, waterfalls, quiet lakes, and the spectacular Blyde River Canyon. You'll stop at the Three Rondavels and Bourke's Luck Potholes for views. The route takes you to Hazyview, where your accommodation sits near one of the gates to Kruger National Park.

After breakfast, head out with experienced rangers in an open off-road vehicle for a full-day game drive through Kruger National Park. You'll get close to the diverse wildlife and plant life. With some luck, you might spot the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino.

Johannesburg Departure
