Colombo to Waikkal
You'll arrive in Colombo and take a short drive to your hotel in Waikkal where you can settle in and rest after your journey. A welcome dinner happens in the evening, so you'll have time to freshen up and relax before meeting everyone.

Waikkal to Habarana
After breakfast, you'll head towards the Golden Triangle with a stop in Marawila to see a children's home social project. From there, drive to Wilpattu National Park to spot wildlife including rare leopards, then continue to Habarana for a two-night stay.

Habarana
This morning starts with a jungle hike through dense vegetation and agricultural land on mostly flat terrain. You'll visit the cave temples in Dambulla to see extensive cave paintings and Buddha statues. After lunch, you'll climb Sigiriya rock fortress which rises 200 meters above the jungle.

Habarana to Gal Oya
Breakfast comes early because you'll depart by 7:30 am to explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa with its royal palace and temple complex. Later you'll drive to Gal Oya National Park in the south-east, passing through Maduru Oya National Park. You'll stay at Wild Glamping Gal Oya in luxury tented accommodation.

Gal Oya
During the morning, you'll hike through the mountains and rural surroundings. After that, you can relax by the pool. In the afternoon, take a boat safari across Lake Senanayaka Samudra where you might spot elephants swimming to small islands to feed on fresh grass.

Gal Oya to Kandy
You have a leisurely morning to either relax by the pool or explore the area on your own. Then you'll drive to the royal city of Kandy, ascending from the eastern lowlands to the central highlands with great views along the way.

Kandy
You'll visit the botanical gardens of Peradeniya which has over 4,000 flowers and shrubs from tropical regions worldwide. Next, you'll go to the Temple of the Tooth to see Buddha's left canine tooth. After that, tour the market and bazaar in Kandy with free time to explore on your own.

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
You'll drive to a village about 50 km from Kandy and hike through lush green hilly landscape, agricultural areas, spice plantations and rice fields. Then head to Nuwara Eliya in Sri Lanka's tea-rich highlands, stopping at a tea plantation to learn about Ceylon tea production.

Landmarks/POIs Nuwara Eliya - Day 9
Nuwara Eliya to Haputale
Drive through mixed eucalyptus and box forests to Horton Plains, a high plateau at around 2,000m with beautiful natural landscapes. You'll hike across the plateau to World's End where cliffs drop 1,000m into the valley, then continue to Baker's Falls. Later, take the scenic train from Patipola Railway Station to Haputale, winding through cloud forest.

Haputale
A short bus ride takes you to Bergala where you'll hike through lush green tea plantations and traditional villages. The eastern hill location offers great views over the lowlands and, on clear days, you can see the ocean in the distance. You might meet tea plantation workers who invite you for tea in their homes.

Haputale to Beruwela
You'll leave the hill country and drive through the south-eastern lowlands to Beruwela. Stop briefly in Galle to visit the imposing fort before continuing to the coast.

You have a leisurely day to relax on the beach and enjoy the tropical sun and Indian Ocean after several days of hiking.
