    You'll land in Buenos Aires and get settled into your hotel in this passionate city. The neighborhoods of La Boca and San Telmo are worth wandering through if you feel like exploring, but there's no pressure to stick to a schedule. Take some time to walk around the Belle Epoque architecture, grab a coffee at one of the sidewalk cafes, and soak in the local atmosphere. This city thrives on football, asado grilling, and tango, so you'll get a real feel for all of it just by being present.

    Buenos Aires to Ushuaia

    After breakfast, you'll fly from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego, the world's southernmost city. From there, you'll board the Scenic Eclipse, an ultra-luxury ship that becomes your home for the next few weeks. The Beagle Channel sail offers incredible views of Andean mountains that you can take in from your private verandah or the Observation Deck. It's your first taste of what's coming.

Between briefings, catch a theater production or documentary in the theater, or just relax knowing you're heading toward something truly special.

    Antarctic Waters Entry

    Antarctic waters come into view today, and you'll likely spot your first icebergs from the Observation Deck. The Polar Discovery Team is on hand to point out marine life and explain what you're seeing. These experts include geologists, historians, ornithologists, marine biologists, and glaciologists, so there's real knowledge available whenever you want it. Keep your camera ready for whales.

    Antarctic Peninsula Wildlife

    You're surrounded by glacial mountains and icebergs sculpted by nature. This region is a birdwatcher's paradise with over 40 species including wandering albatrosses, shearwaters, and giant petrels. With 18 to 20 hours of daylight, there's time to explore as much as you want. Actual excursions depend on ice and weather conditions, but the Discovery Team plans around whatever nature throws at you.

Deception Island has an active volcano with a submerged caldera that the ship can sail directly into. You'll see hundreds of thousands of chinstrap penguins there, which is something you won't forget. The team decides based on conditions.
