Porto
You'll arrive in Porto and board your river ship, then settle into your suite. The evening features traditional Fado music as you toast the start of your journey.

Porto to Pinhão
The ship cruises through Douro Valley past steep riverbanks with terraced vineyards and wine estates. You dock in Pinhão this afternoon, where you can see the riverside train station with hand-painted azulejo tiles or try painting your own tiles at a local workshop.

Pinhão
You'll walk through Provesende, a village on a plateau overlooking rolling farmland. Check out the church, old bakery, traditional handicrafts, and the historic manor house Morgadio da Calçada where you'll taste local bola.

Pinhão
Pick between two options today. Either head to Salamanca to see the university and cathedrals, browse local markets, and have lunch on your own, or travel to Freixo de Espada à Cinta to visit a silk museum and see where silk is still handcrafted entirely by hand.

Pocinho to Régua
After waking in Pocinho, you choose a morning activity: visit one of Portugal's largest museums with paleolithic rock art and prehistoric workshops, or tour an estate learning how sweet almonds are produced with tastings. Later the ship heads toward Régua, the main riverside town in the Port wine region.

Régua to Porto
In Régua you have three morning options: visit Lamego with its cathedral among terraced vineyards, kayak along the Pinhão River, or tour Mateus Palace, a notable Baroque building. This afternoon the ship returns to Porto for a classical concert at São Francisco Church.

Your last day offers three choices. Take a guided tour of Porto including Palácio da Bolsa and browse Bolhão Markets freely, or head to Guimarães to see the Ducal Palace and explore this World Heritage city, or visit Quinta da Aveleda, a 150-year-old wine producer, for touring, tasting, and garden walks.

You disembark and travel by coach to Amarante, a town on the Tâmega river with Baroque architecture through narrow streets. Stop for a pastry at a local bakery, then return to Porto and check into your hotel with the afternoon free to explore.

Porto
