- Day 1
Lisbon
Your Portugal adventure starts in Lisbon with a welcome meeting at 6 pm. If you get in early, the city's outdoor cafes are perfect for settling in, and you can ride the famous Gloria cable car or wander through Bairro Alto to get a feel for the place. Grab a pastel de nata if you're hungry. After the meeting finishes, head to Miradouro de Santa Catarina where you'll catch the sunset and see street performers doing their thing.

- Day 2
Lisbon to Lagos
Leave Lisbon this morning via public transport and head to Lagos. The town sits along the Rio Bensafrim with Mediterranean character, nice beaches, and real history. Start with an orientation walk to figure out the layout, then go to Ponta da Piedade and walk part of the Fisherman's Trail to see natural arches, towers, and caves carved into the limestone. The afternoon is yours to do what you want, whether that's having freshly caught fish at a waterfront spot or exploring the local scene after dark.

Lagos
You have the full day free in Lagos to relax or chase optional activities. After breakfast, consider paddling through clear water and rock archways on a kayak, or take a 1-hour boat tour around the Algarve Caves to see the coastline from the water. If you'd rather just explore the beaches and town on your own schedule, that works too.

Lagos to Seville
Travel to Seville, your entry point into Spain. The city has a strong reputation for oranges, tapas, and flamenco, with deep history woven through everything. Once you arrive, join your leader for an orientation walk to get the lay of the land. Later the evening is free, so check out the shaded streets of Barrio Santa Cruz or head to San Jacinto, the lively main street in the Triana quarter.

- Day 5
Seville
Seville is yours to explore at your own pace today. See the massive Gothic cathedral and climb La Giralda, the Moorish tower next to it, for views across the city. The Alcazar palace complex is worth checking out since it was used by both Moorish and Christian rulers and filmed for Game of Thrones. If museums interest you, the Museum of Fine Arts and Archaeological Museum have solid collections. Later, your group gathers for a tapas tasting tour where you'll sample local specialties at different bars, and you can catch a flamenco show afterwards if you want.

Seville to Granada
Take a local bus to Granada, which sits at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and mixes Moorish architecture with good tapas bars and natural scenery. After arriving, your leader takes you on a walk to get oriented. Then you're free to explore, whether that means climbing steep streets up to Mirador de San Nicolas for sunset views over the Alhambra, or wandering through the Albaicin, the old Arab quarter with its narrow alleys, fountains, plazas, and whitewashed houses.

- Day 7
Granada
Head to Monachil for a hike along the Los Cahorros trail, which has long rope bridges, swimming holes, waterfalls, and tight sections with rock handholds. The bus takes you back to Granada afterwards for a free evening. Visit the Alhambra Palace to see the 11th-century fortress with its red towers and gardens, fountains, pools, old defensive walls, and city viewpoints. Walk down Carrera del Darro or grab local food with your group.

Granada to Madrid
Travel to Madrid, Spain's capital, known for wide boulevards, buildings, good food, and parks that are well maintained. Check in at your hotel and then join your leader for an orientation walk to get comfortable with the city. You'll stop for churros along the way, a typical Spanish snack. Ask your leader where to eat and head out with other travellers to check out the local food.

- Day 9
Madrid
Join a street art tour with a local guide through Madrid's Lavapies neighbourhood to see the district's art scene like someone who lives there. You'll hear stories from local artists and maybe try stencil graffiti yourself. The afternoon is open to explore however you like, hanging out in El Retiro Park, going through the Prado Museum's paintings by Goya and Velazquez, or visiting the Royal Palace of Madrid, which is the official home of the Spanish royal family.

The train takes you to Barcelona, where you'll find Catalan food, mixed art, Gothic buildings, and nightlife that doesn't stop. After checking into your hotel, take some time to rest and recharge. Your leader takes you on a walk through the streets to get your bearings. This afternoon, explore however you'd like, maybe checking out the Sagrada Familia, the largest unfinished Catholic church in the world designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi. Tonight, head out with your group to a local restaurant to mark the end of your travels.
