Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Cologne

You'll arrive in Cologne and have the afternoon to check out the city before your 18:00 departure. The cathedral here is the main draw, and there's plenty to see around the old town if you want to walk around. If you're arriving earlier in the day, you could spend more time exploring, or just relax at your hotel and settle in before boarding the ship.

    Optional Activities

    • Explore Cologne's cathedral and monuments
    • Discover attractions in the cathedral city
    Landmarks/POIs

    Rüdesheim

The ship pulls into Rüdesheim at 09:00, and you'll have the whole day here. Head straight to Drosselgasse, the famous narrow lane full of wine bars and local spots. Make sure to try a traditional Rüdesheim coffee while you're here, since it originated in this town. You can also wander through the stately homes and old fortifications scattered around. From there, just enjoy the atmosphere until you need to be back by 21:00.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations), Tea and Coffee (Daily tea and coffee time)

  3. Day 3

    Frankfurt

Arriving at 08:00 in Frankfurt gives you a good chunk of the day to explore Goethe's birthplace. The skyline here is quite different from other Rhine cities, with modern high-rises creating that banking district feel. Walk through the center where the first German national assembly gathered back in 1848. This is a city that blends history with contemporary commerce, and it's worth spending several hours getting a feel for it.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations), Tea and Coffee (Daily tea and coffee time)

  4. Day 4

    Frankfurt to Mainz

After departing Frankfurt at 08:00, the cruise heads toward Mainz along the Main River before connecting back to the Rhine. You'll arrive in Mainz around 13:00, so grab lunch on the ship or find a spot in town. This is one of Germany's oldest cities with 2,000 years of history packed into it. The locals here have a laid-back reputation, so take your time wandering the streets and checking out the historic areas. You've got until 20:00 to explore before departure.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations), Tea and Coffee (Daily tea and coffee time)

  5. Day 5

    Cochem

The ship arrives in Cochem at 10:00 on the Moselle River, which branches off from the Rhine. Reichsburg castle is impossible to miss, towering above the town and the water. If you're interested in Cold War history, there's a former West German government bunker here that you can visit. The town itself is small and charming, so you can cover most of it by mid-afternoon. You'll need to be back by 22:00.

    Koblenz

An early 06:30 arrival in Koblenz means you'll catch the morning light on this ancient city. Walk through the narrow lanes and check out the palaces and grand townhouses that line the streets. The main event is watching the ship sail past Deutsches Eck, where the Rhine and Moselle Rivers meet. It's a viewpoint you won't want to miss, so position yourself on deck for that moment.

As the ship moves downriver, you'll sail past Deutsches Eck again, and there are more palaces and historic buildings to see from the water. By 17:00, you'll arrive in Oberwesel, a charming little town on the Rhine. Take the evening to walk around and soak in the riverside atmosphere.

Service on board was excellent! Waiters and room service were great. But entertainment wise was rather poor. Cruise was was advertised as German and English mostly German was used. Out of 38 minutes in German, English was use for 3 minutes?? WE had to ask for some translation.. The Cruise administration and presentation on adverting are very misleading. Premium All-Inclusive is just a misleading name and I think it is not the right name for a package!!! Even to have a reserved seats for meals we were asked for daily fee!

This review is about a 7-day river cruise, not a guided tour. The Moselle River is a scenic delight, with vineyard-covered hillsides, charming villages, castles and chateaux. Our boat was the A-Rosa Silva. About 180 passengers. All meals buffet style. We ate very well. The wines included in Premium all-inclusive were mediocre. We knew from a previous A-Rosa cruise that most passengers are German and non English speaking. We missed not having anyone to talk with other than one couple with whom we sometimes shared a table at meal times. The boat did not have very effective AC. The dining room could get pretty uncomfortable. We sometimes took our plates up on deck, and that was lovely. We learned to keep our cabin shades down and curtains closed during the day when we were on the sunny side.

Very good but be prepared to have very few English speaking people on the cruise
