    Cluj-Napoca

    You'll arrive in Cluj-Napoca and settle into your hotel in this cultural hub at the heart of Transylvania. Spend the rest of the day getting oriented to the city, and your local guides will brief you on what's ahead for the next week of hiking and exploration through this historic region.

  2. Day 2

    Cluj-Napoca - Turda - Rimetea - Sibiel

    Start early heading out to the Habsburg-era salt mine at Turda, where you'll walk through the underground chambers and learn about the mining history. Afterward, make your way to the 12th-century village of Rimetea to see the traditional wrought iron craftsmanship. There's an optional short hike to Coltesti if you're feeling energetic (about 1 hour). From there, head into the Carpathian foothills toward Sibiel and visit the glass icon museum, which is quite unique. If you're interested, there's an optional dinner available with a local Romanian farming family to wrap up the day.

You'll drive early in the morning up to Paltinis at 1,400m, Romania's highest health resort, and then begin approximately a six-hour hike over the Cindrel Mountains. The route passes through Oncesti and Tomnaticu peaks before descending down to Rasinari. Your hiking guide can suggest easier or more difficult routes depending on the weather and what you're comfortable with. You'll return to Sibiel by evening, with an optional dinner available with Romanian farmers if you'd like.

Beim Durchsehen der Bilder wurde uns wieder bewusst, welch wunderbare und unvergessliche Erlebnisse wir auf dieser Reise sammeln durften. Unser Fazit ist durchweg positiv! Es war faszinierend, dieses vielseitige Land in all seinen Facetten kennenzulernen. Unsere beiden Guides haben uns mit beeindruckendem Fachwissen tiefgehende Einblicke in Geschichte, Kultur und Alltag Albaniens vermittelt. Ihre Sympathie, Hilfsbereitschaft und Zuvorkommenheit haben entscheidend zur harmonischen Atmosphäre und stets guter Laune beigetragen. Ebenso möchten wir ihre Verlässlichkeit, Pünktlichkeit und exzellente, sichere Fahrweise besonders hervorheben – dafür ein großes Dankeschön!
